It's great pacing because Brick Frog would not have been all that funny by himself. But putting him after and seeing his instantly get passed up was that last little HA to seal the scene before the took a beat in the story.

Fat chance would certainly be worth having on the team. Producing random objects could yield significant results, not all the time of course. If out of 100 tries he produces 1 gold bar and 99 insignificant objects he's still a tremendous net gain. I'd get an incinerator and some entertainment stuff for him and have that be his office. He produces objects and incinerates the crap, but keeps the useful stuff. He would likely be a significant economic asset if nothing else. Passing on fat chance would be a mistake.

It's just a delightful coincidence that makes an already hilarious failure even funnier.

It's that lovely part of this universe where crazy comic-book super-villainy is just a regular old day-job like being an accountant or something. The evil world-threatening masterminds are basically just normal people too, so a guy with a knife is just as scary for them as it would be for us. Venture Bros. is brilliant like that.

Never underestimate a guy who carries around a whole bag of bricks everyday and seems to be skilled at throwing them.

My favorite one has to be Fat Chance. He has a cool power.

I never got it until now, I always though they were poking fun at Fat Chance cuz of the "botched scientific experiment trope" in the "oh sure you did" way. I now realise that Limb, Underbite, and Impossible all got their disfigurments/super powers the same way, and maybe that familiarity with Chance's situation was why he got on the team. That and cuz there is literally a better chance at him being useful than... people like BrickFrog.

It is *all* of these things. It's amazing how this one gag had more thought put into it than all of the jokes in a lot of comedy shows these days.

A hawk and a bee can actually be quite useful from a tactical standpoint

"Aaand he's got a knife!" See they didn't have to step up the comedy because a seemingly deranged man in a bloody bear costume was hilarious enough. Yet they chose to put a cherry on top of this comical sundae with that knife reveal. That one little moment makes this scene go from "hilarious" to "I'm laughing so hard that I'm crying". 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Lyndon Bee. Took me a second to get that one.

I think Fat Chance would make a great addition. Think about it: Literally anything could turn up! He could pull out a doomsday weapon every week! Also, the RS would have an amazing assortment of stuff at their yard sales. I'd go! It'd be like Big Lots and Ollies mashed together on steroids!

ScareBear was able to get past Dean (not hard by itself but there only seems to be one entrance) so maybe he has some horror villain teleport power, ie Jason Voorhees. Nonetheless a regular knife can pretty much kill an average human as long they're not wearing full body armor.
