I'm a civilian and it would be an honor to show respect for the flag.

Well done but when I was in we had to get out of the car and render honors as well.

I have seen some service branches require that on bases installations. Do not know the regulations. For me ya better pull over unless you were responding to an SAC alert klaxion. Then hope to God you were over as far as you could go.

I HATE when people keep keep driving when retreat plays. I pull over and they just go around. Such a disgrace. Take 30 seconds out of your damn day to show respect!!!

You assume:One, they can even HEAR the music, and two, they know the 'proper' procedures. If you're talking civilians, they may have their car radio on and thus not hear it. Also as a civilian, that custom might not even be KNOWN. I didn't know it until watching this video, and I've been a civilian contractor on an AFB before. But I was never on base for either Reveille OR Retreat...

I understand Congress made it legal for military, veterans and those who wear a uniform to render a military salute when in civilian dress.

They should have had this videos audio recorded by a senior NCO. Senior NCOs represent the most professional of the military...I'll correct myself, officers also are just as professional (as the senior NCOs).
