@@tommy2liter448 I’m so glad you did! That is absolutely wild all of the things they make you do before getting chosen! I’m sure there’s some psychological reasons but I’ve seen some contestants that must have maybe frozen during the actual taping? Of course you don’t want everyone to be the same but that is so much work! I’m impressed you actually did with the money what you said you would! More often than not they don’t and it’s sad how many people just use all of it for partying. And with housing prices, you made a good investment which is still small compared to how happy you made your parents. They did a great job raising you. The greatest thing to have in your life is love and it seems you’re surrounded with lots of it. Congrats on the weight loss too! 💜

Yes, I have my church family, but my actual friends have a close circle and I am surrounded by love. I won’t lie and say I didn’t party some of the money away but I also made sure I was smart with a good chunk of it and I’m an overall happy person.

Love every comment in this thread… yes I was I believe 506lbs at taping got up to 591 my biggest I down to 455 and continuing to lose. Thought about growing hair back out but love my beard

For those who don't know, Richard Hatch was the winner of Survivor season 1. He got into legal troubles for not paying the taxes on his winnings. Solid season. I highly recommend

I worked with Tommy after the show and can vouch, he's the real deal. Super down to earth and really easy to vibe with. Glad to see he's doing well, he deserves it!

God his story just goes to show how beneficial a more even distribution of wealth would be for society overall. His winnings afforded home ownership, a career in IT... things that are a net positive not only for him but for the economy Just imagine how much more productive and happy US citizens would be with affordable healthcare and higher education

I had writers block and couldn’t even get one paragraph down for like two or three days I didn’t know what they wanted or even start but actually once I started, I wrote 13 or 14 pages and I had to cut it down and I actually did I think 9 1/2

Could you IMAGINE if a show pulled the car stunt now!? It's always so jarring looking back at how cruel TV was in the y2k era. Tommy is so dope. I aspire to have skin as thick as his one day; I'm still in my "always self conscious in public and still cry over small comments about my weight" era, but getting closer to unapologetically existing and loving myself every day 💪🏻 Also, Scott, you are an incredible interviewer, especially when you consider that it's so much harder to nonverbally communicate interest / active listening over video vs real life. Top-tier video all around, boys!

What a great interview, so glad to hear his experience on the show was so positive that the car gag didn’t even register as rude. I definitely don’t think it justifies the bullying for entertainment purposes, but sometimes not even really being aware you’re being made the butt of the joke is the best outcome of a situation. For another person in a different scenario that gag could have felt incredibly humiliating. So glad to hear that wasn’t his experience.

Scott, you are great, I love that he wasn't nervous about what you would say, because it was you! Great reputation,❤!

So far this is the only show i can think of that does everything within their power anf think of everything to make the contestants look as good as possible so props to them honestly all the way down to physically engineering how to prevent embarrassing/unsightly sweat from happening
