update for those buying these in late '23 early '24, mine didn't come with 2 sim cards, but came with a single, switchable card that allows you to choose (through the app) whether you want verizon or att. Other than that, this is a pretty good video for setup. Also, i didn't use the tactacam branded SD cards as my outdoor store didn't have them but the HME branded 16gb cards DID work and DID NOT require formatting as this video shows. Cheers.🦌

I used this camera and it’s unbelievable. It worked flawlessly. The only adjustment i would make as far as Tactacam is make videos available for 30 seconds instead of 15 seconds. You absolutely cannot beat this camera for the money. The video’s are fantastic and picture quality is really good. I definitely will be purchasing more of the Sb and Sk models.

I have 2 of the SK models. How do the SB models compare?

Just picked up 2 of these today at my local Walmart, 50% off!! $89 each!

Hi, my brother bought the Sk model recently. I have been trying to set it up for him, and it isn't sending photos after the initial set-up. I send a test photo, and it works, then I turn camera to the on position and walk away. I come back a few minutes later, to see if it will take a photo and nothing sends. I formatted the SD card, all the lights are the way they should look on the camera, and still nothing. What could it be? Driving me nuts. I have the Tactacam regular model no solar on top. It works good. Thanks for any help.

Which direction do you put the SIM card in?

Do all these cameras come with mounting bracket and strap or is it just the one from tactacam site. Bass pro says nothing about it being included. Also calls it’s low glow instead of no glow. Very confusing. (Both sk models)

Can spare batteries be purchased ?

Do you have to have a plan just to add the camera to the app and to set it up? I've chosen no plan and the app just kicks me back to the choose a plan page and never adds the camera to the app.

I can't find the SK on the Tactacam website. Has it been discontinued already?

Does anyone know if the Reveal X and Reveal X 2.0 have the same size Sim Card? I have an older cam that I think has bad Verizon chip and if I buy the Reveal X 2.0 it comes with Both AT&T and Verizon chips!

Love my first gen reveals .. the new sk I bought will be getting sent back hopefully for a functional one. I've had it out a week now and it's nearly dead so the solar isn't working and now it's decided it has no service. I have two other reveals within a few hundred yards functioning flawlessly same carrier. When I left the camera the first two days it said service was strong now it says weak and it's not somewhere it should be getting weak signal. Hopefully I get a quick response from them it took almost a month to hear from someone just about billing questions. Love the cameras but customer support needs some serious improvement.

So do you sign up for monthly plan with whatever carrier you choose? I have a Verizon cell phone, would it make more sense to match your cell carrier or does that not make a bit of difference

you can use either just select the best for the location you are putting the camera. If you know your cell carrier works well and its Verizon or AT&T use the same.

@@shanehoward9756 It depends which plan you select - they're listed on the Reveal website. You pay Reveal for the plan not your cell carrier. You can use ether sim card regardless of who your cell plan is with.

Can you switch between carrier cards later depending on which carrier has better service in the are

yes, just delete or cancel (or whatever they call it) to remove the camera from service, then install the other SIM card and go through the process of activating again.

Both sim cards are included in the box so you can select which one you want to use and change them out if needed.

yes it will help with signal.

I love my Reveals. I have 8 of the first generation, 6 of the Reveal X, and just received 2 Reveal XB. One thing concerns me about the SK. It seems that to replace the main battery in the field, either the whole camera would have to be taken in to recharge, or a second battery cartridge could be swapped out. But I guess with the two batteries, and one having solar power, the camera may maintain charge for the entire hunting season in most states. 🤔

Nope, the solar panel is useless, all u getting is a rechargeable battery that will have to be retrieved and took home to charge. Gen 1 reveal with lithium aa will out last the sk with solar. In direct sun all day only taking 3 pics my battery percent will not raise, it will go down 10% every night until dead. Just buy a x or Xbox and buy a aftermarket solar panel that will charge.

My SK has been up for a week and the battery has only decreased 10%. The solar panel is on the north side of the woods facing North - which means it's getting litte to no sunlight and holding up pretty well. I will be repositioning the solar panel toward more sunlight to see how it compares.

There was no Sims card or instructions inside the camera.

I assume that's the same SD CARD used in the X ?

I like the camera a lot but have questions and want to speak to tech support. I was told that there service and support is great. We;ll I emailed 3 times on questions no response back. I called many times and get transferred to support and waited many minutes to no answer. So the support sucks.

@@davisfamilyshenanigans4807 Really wrong answer, I know when the weekend is and 9am-5pm cst. It wasn't the weekend. Sounds like you are saying that I don't. I have been trying since 11-8-2021. So yes this sat I called the store I bought these from and after me questioning the service they did admit Tactacam has poor support. They have had more customers complain about their service.

no, the camera has 2 antennas to help with the signal.

I think a bear is going to have a great time with that cord.

Why not charge $1 more for the camera and include the charger cord??? 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️

If you did not receive a cord, send a message to Reveal by Tactacam on Facebook. It should come with the charger in the new SK's.

What you need to do is have a tracking device so when someone steals your tactacam, you could track their lousy pieces of shit down!

I like your cameras but your customer service sucks

I hope these are better than the video cameras. My experience with Tactacam has been horrible!! Have a Solo that I used twice and after an update it shut down and won't turn back on. Customer service is nothing short of pathetic. 30 minutes wait time on multiple calls and have yet to talk to a person. Yry an email? Nothing but computer generated worthless responses. My GoPro cameras have been trouble free since day one. Video quality and color is much better on GoPro. I would advise to not spend a dime of your hard earned money on any product from Tactacam.

I’ve been using the Tactacam 3 and 5 for years. Worked flawlessly.
