The bars on the Cook Bros. are designed for a brake lever that mounted to the vertical part of the bar similar to the Dia Compe Tech 2
I had a brand new Mongoose Decade around 88 and a new GT Performer in 94. Neither came with 3 piece cranks. I never had 3 piece until i got into cycling in 2016 with a couple new bikes I bought for road and off road..I never had or seen the real issue with single piece cranks. Fewer parts and things to go wrong. BUT thats just my dumb take on it. Love the GT. Looks so classic..
The 3-piece cranks look great. Totally worth it!!! That Cook Bro’s build looks amazing 🤩 The subtle hints of gold are a nice touch too ❤

Thanks 👍
My understanding is the blue thing on the brake is a heat sink, kinda like on an air cooled motorcycle cylinder head. Also, thanks for mentioning WEBCO, had a team replica as a kid, my brother had a curb jumper.
One of the only channels that I have the bell clicked off, in notifications. Dont want to miss a video. Beautiful work Sean RAD builds.

Glad you enjoyed the video!
The titanium bolts really do look better! I was surprised a small detail like that made the difference it did.

It’s all about those small details that make a bike rad

Pork Chop stuff is great!! my Quadangle was studded with his stuff
That Cook Bros is going to look extra rad with some new decals and pads along with looking showroom new. It didn't bother me the least bit to see 1 piece cranks on the GT, but the upgrade looks cool especially with the bolts from Pork Chop.

It’s been amazing so far
Let’s go!! Perfect video before I go to bed and dream about being as cool as you!! I do like that little bit of gold with the blue! On my EK Torker I went with as much chrome and gold as possible but actually have the cook brothers cranks that are shown in your video and that little bit of blue really pops with the chrome and gold. Stay RAD!🤙🏻

Good call!
The OPC ain’t a bad thing with the right BB. Anyone who disses you for building OPC setups can kick rocks, sugino one piece cranks got me through the late 80’s and early 90’s…heavy but thick, and top notch chromoly. Appropriate for the day (and my lighter body) This one is deadly, turned out well!! And that old one piece is STILL gorgeous. How did you polish it?
@RadBMXBuilds

Chrome polish and vinegar
The 3 piece cranks look super good. I didn’t mind the one piece either.

They both look good on that bike
I like the OPC better. Happy that to see you kept the GT!

Awesome Bike Bro!!!!
Have you ever seen, or owned, one of the short lived "Cannondale" 20" or 24" BMX frames? What about a "browning 2 speed shifter" like "Darrell Young" ran on his JMC?
Another great episode!!
Looks Great

I commented on a video earlier that I just bought an 88 GT pro Freestyle Tour and want to add a GT 3 piece power series crank how do you go about picking out the right size?

Don’t they only come in 175mm?
@penaltyboxpunk

@@RadBMXBuilds I saw an old school one on eBay that said it was 180 mm so I assumed there were different sizes but it looks like the newer ones are all 175 mm unless the listing on eBay is incorrect.

@@penaltyboxpunk all the new ones are 175mm. Honestly you’d never know the difference between the two
Are those gonz and gator decks vintage or new?
What hubs are on the cook bros?
Just been watching the X Games and realized, there's only skateboard merch being presented around the commentators. Please, see who you can influence into getting BMX merch and memorabilia presented on screen with them next time. Example, Dave Mirra's gold plated BMX, the Rad Cartoons and give-aways, etc.... Let's do this.

Those Cooks Brothers cranks are way too heavy. Just my opinion.
