Prayers and condolences to the Lawson family. I grew up in the same community and saw Rev Lawson’s efforts to desegregate a very staunchly rigid and very racially polarized Houston. His efforts even continued into the early 1990s in this regard. My family shopped at Weingarten’s grocery on Almeda ( cited in this video as the site of the first student sit-in to desegregate Houston). That location is now a U.S. Post Office- which should be named in Rev Lawson’s honor. His death marks the end of his very illustrious life that was well traveled in helping to spiritually elevate our society. May God Bless his soul for all eternity!
