The company that makes this trackpad (Synaptic) actually use the same pinout. The one in the video may work, but the most common pinout is: T22 - VCC (+5v) [Red] T23 - GND (-5v) [Black] T10 - CLK (D+) [Green] T11 - DATA (D-) [White] In the video, it works out fine, but some of these pads don't always line up the same with every Synaptic track pads. So it's best to use the pinout I gave above. Also, PS2 and USB adaptors are l passive and just basically short certain wires. So you can actually wire this up directly to a USB and it should work.

are you sure about this? there are active and passive adapters, the one in the video is an active one.

I can confirm the above pinout works with the following Synaptics touchpad models: 920-001019-02 Rev A. 920-000241-01 Rev B. But it only works if it's connected to an active USB to P/S2 adapter. I also tried that pinout with an USB cable and Windows 7 could not recognize the "USB"device. When connected via P/S2 cable to the USB active adapter, the touchpad recognize: Single tap to select an icon on the desktop Double tap as double click. The vertical scroll also works great on any window.

Hey man, thanks for the vid! Question: must the adapter be that specific one? And why would you jump the ps/2 female plug by soldering directly onto the pcb, instead of keeping the/soldering a ps/2 male plug to the end of the cable?
