Reuniting A Veteran With His Long Lost Harley Davidson

Ойын-сауық

Dwain, a 70 year old Army veteran, was diagnosed with Terminal Cancer. During his treatment, Dwain and his son Mike shared very intimate stories on his deathbed. Mike once asked him if he had any regrets, to which he responded that he only regretted selling his 1982 Harley Davidson FX Wide Glide big bore. Mike vowed to his dad that he would find him his old bike. During the 3 year search, Dwain somehow through either the marvel of modern medicine or the will of God managed to pull through and went into full remission. After his dad made his recovery, they put the search on hold. Shortly after, Mike and myself came up with the idea to use my KZread platform to find his fathers old Motorcycle. With nothing but a bill of sale and 2 photos from the 80's, my KZread audience and the hero himself, Richard Ford, was able to find the current owner of the motorcycle and gave us the contact information. After a 5000 mile journey to Tacoma, Washington, Mike and myself found ourselves face to face with Dwain's old motorcycle. Here are the events that unfolded after...

Hey everyone... Just wanted to update everyone on something important. Dwain's wife who was battling cancer passed away a few months ago. She was obviously the sparkle in his eye and we were all devastated. Thank you all so much for everyone's love and support. It truly means the world to him.

This video proves that the 'biker' community is actually full of kind-hearted, caring individuals, and I think Dan is a prime example of that. Also, it shows that not all Harley riders are as people make them out to be. I'm not allowed to ride a bike (long story), nor am I a 'bike' person, but this video certainly makes me want to be more active in the local community!

@doitwithdan Bro, I'm sitting here with tears rolling down my face when he realized it was his bike and knowing that his son got it for him hit me so hard: My dad is also an Army veteran and he proudly served in Germany as a part of the famed "Big Red One". My biggest regret was never having the money to do what I'd always wanted to do: surprise my dad with his first car. It was a 1956 Chevy Bel-Air that he bought brand new for $2,400, by working for a few cents per hour at a gas station as a pump attendent. My wonderful loving father, advisor, mentor and best friend passed away on September 30th. I'm not commenting to draw attention, I just want you to know that this video was very special to me and to see the joy in that man's eyes and hear it in his voice, it floored me. I wish I could have heard and seen that same joy from my dad after surprising him, but I won't get the chance. Either way, keep making awesome vids, man. (Sorry for the paragraph)

ekim andersom I can only guess that you typed this with complete ignorance of Saudi Arabia where they “deflower” young girls and kill them. Where they chop off fingers and limbs for minor crimes. We bless America because we are completely free. We all have our liberties and we don’t trespass on another human’s liberty. There isn’t religious persecution, we have free speech, women and men are as equal as nature allows, and the world is safe because we have the deterrent.

What an absolute example of a human being, of a MAN. Drafted in, served in Vietnam, became a pilot, retired, became a test pilot, got a law degree, and now he's a judge. So many people want it too easy these days and this man is a great example of hard work paying off. Thank you sir, for your service and inspiration.

I HATE it when I’m trying to watch a great video like this and my allergies start ! Sniffles, watery eyes etc. Now I need a tissue. No, it’s allergies. I’m a tough firefighter and things like this don’t faze me ! It’s just that duck-thistle and goldenrod are terrible this time of year, in my living room.. 😢 Cherish you dad every day, cause one day you wont be able to. I lost mine recently and we were best friends. He was on his beloved Harley at 79 years old and hit by someone who ran a light. His first accident ever. So, seeing this has special meaning for sure. Thanks for sharing this special event, you guys are a great family. Bless you all ! 🇺🇸

Also Dwain I thank you for your service to our nation. I appreciate you so much. My husband and my dad (now passed) are Vietnam vets. My dad also served in WWII and Korea. You and your beloved sweet wife did an amazing job raising your son. Mike is a man to be proud of and his love for you is there for all to see. Thanks for sharing this heart warming story. Thank you to everyone who made reuniting Dwain with his bike possible. I will be watching the longer video.
