When they lived in the rocks, Nami was the dominant in the relationship. Now that Uni has lived in the home for several days/weeks, she feels she is the dominant and doesn't want to go back to being subordinate to Nami.

I think it's more a matter of Uni thinking it's her territory now, first come first get. It can take a while to get them used to eachothers, but most get along fine after a while and a few "ice breakers", like play time, smell without visual contact, and eating together.

On the one hand this is sad, but, on the other, they will be easier to re-home. (That sounds cold and callus, that is not what I intended, but it is an unfortunate reality!)

nala simba Cats can be spiteful, but probably not to the level of being mad at their sibling for "leaving". I bet she doesn't remember her but finds her smell oddly familiar. Maybe that's what's throwing her off so much in getting to know Nami.

Well I think because their concerns are different from before. Before they always searching for home and food on their own despite being kitten. So maybe they don't really have energy left to play around like that before. Now they have home and food, they can do whatever they want

The cutest thing to me is after they play they pass out that is too damn cute

They love each other really. I love the sound of them running across the floor and tumbling across the furniture 😍

Close your eyes and just listen and you think they adopted horses. Lol. Too sweet.

Uni was like "I had a good thing going until you came here, all attention, treats and toys were mine alone! Later..." I forgot it's so much fun to play with sister...okay you can stay sis".

I love that Nami laid off for a while while Uni was still scared, but then once they were getting used to each other again she was just like "ok but don't forget _I'm_ still the bigger sister"

I love how UNI just splays herself on her back when she sleeps

you can tell when they are play fighting that Uni feels safe around Nami, when a cat has their belly up during “sparring”, they are allowing their most vulnerable spot to be exposed. the trust is coming back (:

Thats not true at all. While it's true that a cat showing its belly in a non-aggressive context is showing trust, during a fight, it's a defensive position. That's because cats can do a lot of damage with their back claws by kicking, and having their feet up is necessary for that. A cat with its belly up and it's limbs limp and floppy is trusting. A cat with its belly up, feet held in prepared to kick, and arms held up prepared to grab, is ready to mess someone up (that's also why they get into that position when they've caught a toy, cause they're play hunting and getting ready to kick that toy mouse to death)

Those cuties have the most beautiful markings. Nami looks like she has flames on her nose and Uni is marked perfectly with her white. Two white eyebrow hairs. Very cute, those two.

So happy they are finally getting along. Thank you for the rescue.

Female cats have smaller territories than males and thus protect them more vigorously from other cats. Getting males together is a bit easier from my experience. But patience is the key. Great it worked out for the two! ☺️

Its literally one of the worst things you can do to get two cats who do not 'know' eachother to get along though. Putting them in front/close of each other forcefully. Same thing with using only one toy for both. Its not about making them interact, its about getting them used to each other and share territory.

This has been fun. I can't imagine the laughs you are having watching these 2. And so many years ahead.

The hissing is just a dominance thing. She's establishing the pecking order between them (some cat relationships are like that ones the boss and the other tends to back down) Introducing cats to one another is a strange thing. Sometimes cats get mopey or angry another cat is around and acts up. My cat got depressed ignored the other kittens and sulked in the litter box as if he thought he was being replaced with a younger model. But after a lot of fuss and determination from one of the kittens to constantly come up to him and try to lie with him and hug him he softened to them. He even missed them when we had to re-home them because we couldn't afford three cats anymore. The fact they are playing together is a very good sign.

When I brought my 7 week old kitten home and she met her oldest cat brother she was hiding under the couch. He went to sniff at her and out shot the paw of doom. She smoked him good right on the snout and from that point on she was the boss. She didn't give two flips that he was the "leader" and had been dominant for the first nine years in that house. It was hilarious but he looked at me with such shock it was heartbreaking too.

@@user-ug2fm5xq3q it wasnt just three cats. It was just too many pets in general. At one point my family had an entire aviary, three cats and a rabbit. It was expensive upkeep and for years that was ok. Life circumstances changed drastically overnight, and we could only barely afford one pet and thats because I started paying for his food myself out of what little wages I had as a teenage lad. Those two cats we had for a good few years and loved dearly went onto a new home, (as did the other pets we had), and the new owners even sent us followup letters and a few photos to see that they had settled in and enjoyed their new home. So I'm perfectly at peace with that. And my old boy that I kept lived onto 19 happy years. Do I wish I had those other cats back, sometimes, but its definitely not fair on a cat to keep uprooting their lives for your own selfish desires. If I was to get another cat, (and trust me, I really do want one. I love cats), I would adopt a cat a few years old to give them a second chance home now that things are good.

When we first got my new cat, she was like 10months old, she thought she was everyone's boss. She fought every cat in the neighborhood but soon learned she's not always the stronger one. One big fight with the neighbors cat where I had to come get her bc she was hiding in a place where the other cat couldn't get her but they've gotten along great ever since. Just needed to establish who's boss🤷😂

A good way to make them familiar to each other is: Just make them a Bed! 1 Bed for 1 Cat, and a second Bed for the other cat... there you put a NOT WASHED Shirt from you in addition to the blankets you use for the Bed... So the cat gets familiar with YOUR scent and smell. And, after a While, you swap the Shirts between the two Catbeds, so that they get used to the smell of each other. This way the Kitties become a Family much easier and aren't so afraid of "the other Cat", or in other words, to the "intruder" This also works with Cats who absolutely do not like each other in the Beginning! This works with Humans too! There is a wise word when we say: I cannot stand the smell of a Person..... But it is very very important that the Shirts are NOT washed or perfumed in any before you give it to the cats to have Contact... This is just in order to create a family with a common scent, where all members have the scent of the Family.

Question: Uni, why are you climbing the curtain at 3 am? Uni: Because it's there!

The most comforting sound in the world to me is the sound of galloping kitty feet on a hard floor (sample starts at 5:21) They didn't smell right to each other at first but, after a while, they adjusted and now they're happy together. I had a cat, that I gave away named "Mittens." He looked alot like your...Nami. Every time I see your beautiful cats, especially Nami, I think of my Mittens...My car broke down, and I could not get to the vet, I'm 75, and have health problems....but I still wish I'd kept him...He brought me such comfort....He'd love to get up at 3AM and play in the hall way and we'd go up and down it, playing hide and go seek. I used to take him in for rides in a stroller that was made for cats...He loved it and he loved me....I MISS him...

It took me almost the entirety of the previous video to belatedly realise that the extremely unnerving grumbling sound throughout its runtime wasn’t in fact some kind of industrial work being done in a neighbouring apartment, but instead was little Uni vocally registering her indignation at her sibling’s arrival in her territory! How one tiny, incredibly cute kitty can possibly generate such a noise is quite impressive!

The owners are well done!!! With great patience and love still made friends with cats! Many thanks to them!

I've seen the "Safety Dance" between many cats, and cats and dogs. When it ends in friendship, that's wonderful.

Uni is a firecracker. I would have been mad if it had happened at my house, but I confess I laughed when they uprooted the plant.

I loved that 3-part series I just watched!:) What's funny is that I never saw their ears down. Even when one of them were hissing. And I just saw you mention in the description it could be jealousy. Or Uni did remember her but was very wary of everything else and was like "not now!!" But yeah... hiding under table but not in a corner, and also peeking out of the table, also kind of seeking out contact but also afraid. And the hisses were not random-cats-fighting-hissing or yowling, nor very submissive nor dominant. Everything was very weird. But love to see it work out so soon :D

Uni is so cute, I have never heard a cat make those sounds before. Nami is so sweet and patient.

I had brother and sister for 16 yrs they loved and traveled in same box never any problems loved each other! They came into the world 🌎 together and left the world together! They were a joy we miss everyday
