🔺 Our Mission 🔺
Founded in 1997 in Cedar City Utah, we are a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to wildlife rescue, rehabilitation and education.
Rescue, Rehabilitate and Release
The Southwest Wildlife Foundation of Utah (SWF) cares for more than 100 sick, injured and orphaned native wildlife annually. Restoring them to health and returning them to the wild is our primary goal.
Informing, Educating and Inspiring
The SWF provides over 100 educational programs reaching over 30,000 people annually. We believe providing educational outreach programs to schools, scout groups and community events, with focus on children and families, will make the greatest impact in preserving our wildlife, the environment, our public lands and our resources for future generations to enjoy.
Martin Tyner
Since age twelve, with a bird on his arm, Martin has captivated audiences sharing his knowledge and experience of his wildlife friends.
At age nineteen, Martin was hired as curator of birds of prey at Busch Gardens, CA. He also worked in the movie and television industry training big cats, elephants, primates, sea mammals and raptors.
“One of my greatest childhood fantasies was the desire to create a personal friendship with a wild eagle. I found myself with a love and fascination for these powerful creatures.”
Martin Tyner is a federally licensed falconer, eagle falconer, wildlife rehabilitator, wildlife propagator, and wildlife and environmental educator.
He has been providing wildlife and environmental programs throughout the western United States, to schools, scouts and community groups for over fifty years.
“Grandpa believed in a very simple philosophy; that a person should get up every morning and do good. Doing good means that you do well for others and doing well means that you do good for yourself. There is nothing wrong with doing well, but Grandpa always believed in doing good.”
Martin's book, Healer of Angels, reflects back on his life: from a young boy terrified of birds to becoming the first man in North America licensed to train a wild golden eagle in the ancient art of falconry.
Through a heartwarming collection of true stories he describes his challenging transformation from a shy dyslexic teenager, to the founder and CEO of the Southwest Wildlife Foundation.

HI Martin. I bought a copy of your book and had it sent to me here in Sweden. I have to say that I loved it. So much I recommended it to my father in the UK who loved it too. It is wonderful the job you do with the eagles and other birds. Keep up the good work!

Thank you Ken. Hope you enjoy our book. It will be shipped to you today.
Everytime I watch the release of these beautiful birds I start crying😢, knowing that they were helped and they get to live again.❤ thank you.❤
In the middle of a world filled with turmoil, when it becomes hard for me to realize how evil people can behave, I love to come here and watch these videos. They remind me that God has a lovely planet with many, many people who are kind. They far outweigh the evil screaming for attention. THANK YOU for allowing us to share in your world. It's a beautiful one.
I often wonder what the Eagles or birds think about their rescue. Especially those that are nursed back from near death. If they do have memory of their rescue I’m sure Martin and his wonderful partner wife made the Eagle’s experience a wonderful memory!
Thanks for sharing this video, thanks for your service to our country in taking care of wild animals.

Thanks Mark
Never really cared much for birds because they always wake me up early in the morning with their incessant chirping. Gotta say after watching many of your videos Ive gained an appreciation for them.
Gosh this one brought me to tears of joy. You could feel how special this was for that woman. Thanks for all you do. ❤
I watch eagle cams. And I rescue birds! Many baby eaglets were saved because of us watchers getting involved. It’s a step in the right direction- people discovering how amazing the eagles are. But yes, caring is doing and anything less is cheap sentimental twaddle.
Thank you Martin and Susan for all you do in rescuing these precious eagles. It was nice to see the beautiful emotion of the woman releasing the first eagle. I am thankful so many care about and appreciate the majesty of nature.

We are thankful so many people care just like you do. Thanks for your kind words.
Thank you for never posting clickbait. For rescuing birds and also showing us the actual footage. Thank you for all you do, for educating us and thank you for sharing and making us part of it Edit: Also Martin walking with an apex predator on his arm as if it was a rescue chihuahua puppy is something else! Takes a very special kind of person to do that the way he does
Martin & Susan, I've never asked or heard you comment, I know that the ones you can't save are sent to the Feds to distribute for education and ceremonial needs, but do you or your volunteers collect the naturally molted feathers for the same needs? You both are such a blessing to our beautiful wildlife, truly giving God an assist! I'm sure your love and efforts make Him smile. You are always in my prayers! 🇺🇲❤️🦅❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Happy Thanksgiving🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

You're doing the work humans were put on this planet to do: serving and caretaking the other living creatures we're fortunate enough to share the earth with. It's not our place to dominate and subdue -- we're here to serve.

It's probably rude, but I am so curious so I'll ask anyway, how much does it cost (monthly or annually) to rescue and take care of these birds? I mean monetary wise, if you had to buy all the mice, nets, shelters, medicine, petrol and such without receiving gifts?
Mousie soup! Lol
Hi Martin and Susan, I enjoy all your videos, thank you for sharing. I was wondering how many birds you see that come to you with wing fractures or dislocations and whether any of them can be rehabilitated?
💞
hello Martyn, what happened to the colour morph bald eagle ?
Our government needs to wake up. Statistics on rescue and survival rates is important to our environment. It gives us information that we would not have. Every detail is essential. Unfortunately everything in life is about money. Our government gives away grants to some incredibly stupid things. What is more important than life on this planet? That's where the money really needs to go. People get with your representatives and fight for all life. Stop our governments from spending money that is not essential to the survival of life on this planet as well as the planet itself. Be kind to yourself and others.
🙌🙌👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
what you do is what i feel we as humans are why we are here. i have a question for you. have you tried to release a bird and the bird came back to you? an accidental inprint if you will? and if so how did you deal with that?
I take it you have a home sticking kit ??
Was the white bellied Bald eagle ever released? I couldn’t find anything on it.
Kartalları neden doğaya bırakmıyorsunuz.
What ever happened to the White Belly Bald Eagle? Do you still have him?
Is it that Golden eagle screeching
@GowildlifeOrg
Жыл бұрын
no, you heard Kate the peregrine falcon screaming
You kept saying that's my boy… How do you tell a male eagle from a female eagle I know in general females are larger but one of us can you tell?❤🦅..... wow! That was shocking to hear that the government 🤬 looks at rescuing and rehabilitating eagles as a right off as them being dead ..that's horrible 🤬
