RETURN TO THE WILD PLACE PROJECT - BRISTOL ZOO’S NEW HOME IN 2024

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

Join me as I return to the Wild Place at Bristol which will be become the new home of Bristol Zoo in Earl 2024 featuring meerkats, gelada baboons, reticulated giraffes, wolverines, , eurasian lynx, grey wolves, brown bears and so much more.
Wild Place Project is a wildlife conservation park in South Gloucestershire, United Kingdom. It is run by the Bristol Zoological Society (BZS) and was the sister site of Bristol Zoo until closure of that site in 2022.
The Park has been designed to link specific ecosystems and conservation programmes around the world, and was originally intended to be split into biomes, representing species found only in specific habitats. Current areas include: British Ancient woodland, Benoué National Park and Discover Madagascar.
Bristol Zoo announced on 27 November 2020 that its historic main centre in Clifton would close, with animals moved to the Wild Place Project site close to the M5 motorway. In early 2024 the Wild Place Project would become the new Bristol Zoo and be home to new exhibits:
Western lowland gorilla, Collared mangabey, African grey parrots, Slender-snouted crocodiles will be in a new central African rainforest area.
The Eastern black rhinoceros and Ostrich would join the Giraffe, Zebra, Eland, Red river hog and Cheetah in the Benoue National Park area.

The children shouldn't be so loud ..... I've always heard that screaming and loud noises scares animals and upsets them. Looks like a hot day for the bears? There should be above-ground swimmimg pools of water for the bears to cool off in. Good video!

Thanks Gwen. Yes it was a hot day but rest assured the bears had several ponds which weren’t on camera to go in should they wish and also plenty of shaded areas and their house to get away from the heat. I agree the children can be loud but they are excited and don’t know any different, it should be up to the parents to teach them how to behave appropriately around animals would be nice.
