It’s like anything beautiful, it should touch your soul. We need all our artists in every medium. They tell us who we really are, not who we think we are. Keeps us talentless hacks in our place ;-)

@DebiFambro1039 -- When you are not feeling melancholy until hearing music, then you know you are hearing a music Minor scale. If a music Major scale changes its tempo from fast to slow or to a minor scale, it too, will evoke melancholy. Relax and enjoy the music knowing your brain / emotions are merely responding to a musical composition.
When I first saw John as Capt, I thought...oh no. Then, the moment he spoke, I was there. So so so good. Excellent.

You have to know that John is the consummate actor for any part he has played over the decades of his career. And yes, the very moment he spoke we all knew . . . he’s the Capt.

In my opinion, Tommy Lee Jones IS Captain Woodrow F. Call!! To substitute anyone else, when Jones is still available is like substituting Festus for Jed Clampett and then raving how GREAT the imposter is as an actor??@@cleekmaker00
Never replace the drama of 1. But still a great series.

Martin, I take it you have not seen the original Lonesome Dove series. If you had you would not be saying that this remake is any good.
How different life was then. Every day was about surviving. Depending on where you live so is today.
Thanks for the good show love it❤

Well done

This so poignant and heartfelt. Listening to the music and watching this is like seeing old photos and videos of loved ones who have passed on and you're left yearning and longing for the innocence of your youth.❤😢😊 if we could only turn back time😊😢

At 39 years old watching this movie a million times, I'm just now realizing that Caption Cole was different 😂 hell Claria her girls, half of the cast, I was 8, 9 watching this, they tricked me 😢😮😂😂
I only new of the first movie Comanche Moon when they were all young. I have it and Lonesome Dove. I didn't know about this one. Thanks!

There's also a 3rd one with James Garner playing Captain Call. It's okay. Definitely worth a watch. There's also the "TV" series with several episodes which is very good. Mostly about Newt's life with a different actor playing Newt. He does an admiral job...

Very cool 😎.
What happened to part 2 ??
As good as it gets!
I watching this to remember for Lonesome dove only.
Leave Lomesme Dove alone!! You can't remake that one. The faces are different even though the name might be the same.
When he was telling him about the Indian honey trap, I kept expecting him to ask the captain "are you in good hands?"
Will u put the other ones on soon
I love this movie these guys are awesome my heros

Unlike us today, the idea of having to defend oneself from those whose greatest delight would be in killing you, was, not only a daily preoccupation, but was the primus of existance. Think about that when you are in freeway traffic,

He wouldn't turn away a request for Water; a cup . . .

I did not see the Mexican's using Bolos.
I can’t tolerate Jon voits politics, but he acted good in this film
And the music makes me want to move on
Nope!!!
Most of these sequel’s just never cut the mustard. Godfather two did. For one of a very few.
Tommy Lee Jones was a better Captain Call he had a stronger look to him . He was bigger . John Voit smaller and weaker doesn't stand out as much. His presence is not as commanding. Lou Gossit Jr. R.I. P.

@@cw3365 Jon Voight was a horrible replacement. Looked small and weak regardless of his height and Tommy Lee was the better actor for this part. Hands down!
Spoiler, no "Lori darling" 😢
Women acting like men in westerns just isn't right. Very cringey. Women in those days lived classic feminine roles.
I just can't get into this. There's too much wrong with it. Captain Call is a little bit too young and Claire in Nebraska is definitely too young. Now we have the fiddle music drowning out the dialogue. Can't understand what they're saying because of that and heavy accents.
