Return of the Daleks? Have they really been away? The Doctor better watch out, because they are back with a vengeance. Who knows, they might even return for next season.
A fun piece of fan art. Being an avid fan of Doctor Who for many years, which started with the 2nd Doctor, it made sense to build a Dalek. Yes, I am that old! This isn't based on one model of the travel machine, I've taken the best bits from different models and did some tweaking of my own.
This was one of the first things I modelled in Cinema 4D, 6 years ago. Seems like a lifetime away. It was an opportunity to learn the tools and, not knowing C4D all that well back then, took about 2 weeks to model. This was a test render, originally with the Physical Render and recently I re-rendered using Octane.
Disclaimer: Observant Whovians will notice that the dome lights aren't quite in synch with the dialogue. I added the dialogue after animating. I found some sound bites online and thought it would be fun to add them to the clip. Just think of it being dubbed from Japanese.
