A little tidbit I picked up from getting angry at Fatalis is that pretty much every "stream" of fire is safe to clutch claw onto, while fireballs are not. not sure about the beam where he does the 360 but pretty much every other one is safe. this also includes the DoT flame breath he spews at the ground, though it is worth mentioning only two people can use this. ALSO, Longsword's Foresight Slash can be shortened by using either a Special Sheath or Spirit Thrust/Helmbreaker before moving back in. it's really useful for punishing monsters' combo finishers and roars. Learned this one from a Reddit video Not trying to backseat. I just get really giddy about sharing, and helping people improve further. hope it helps

Ive been having trouble beating fatalis the first time. What setups and weapons did yall use to beat him the first time?

1. Fireproof mantle is a must. 2. I'd prioritize a set with decent damage skills and good defense - anything from the end of the story through post game is highly recommended; though the way Fatalis is tooled, it's less a matter of the set you use and moreso how you use it. My #1 tip is to try and hug Fatalis's front at all times because a lot of his moves WANT to keep you at a distance, and it really comes down to avoiding his close-range, slag breath swipes. The rhythm is easy to get into with faster weapons, as slower weapons may leave you open to him since he's very snappy. He's very akin to the other post-game elders in that you'll likely only get 1 status proc (excluding blast & poison) across the fight, so focusing more on either raw or element is the way to go.

@@picklekun thanks for the advice. I guess my only problem is how spongy he is. I'm playing solo and no matter what weapon I use I just can't get in damage fast enough, even with maxed atk up skill

@@jackshadowbrowse I would look to investing in the critical skills or Agitator; I neglected to mention that a good way to get damage in on Fatalis is softening his head and sending him into the walls; this will always enrage him and make good progress on his horn breaks. Keep in mind, he can't be standing up when you go for it, but you can force him to 'lay down' by attacking his chest, and once you get at least the first break, you can focus more on the chest for the best damage.

If you have a high performance pc go check for palico judgement glitch,it deal massive damage to anything by utilize high frame rate
