This is my full build video for the Great Guitar Build off 2022. The design was inspired by a retrofuturistic a aesthetic, like the Jetsons cartoon. I show all the process of building the guitar and at the end give a little demo and somes images of the finished guitar. I hope you'll enjoy it!

When I saw the title "Jetson guitar" I expected a gimmick with fake antennas, but this is gorgeous. The flat red finish, the pickguard cutout for the knob, even the shape of the truss rod cover, this is really stunning to the last detail.

This is great. I have had an idea of a low resolution or 8bit look LP in my head but couldn't ever make a design that looked good. This right here knocked it out of the park👏

What a beautiful guitar, really, a piece of art. That matte red is gorgeous.
Really nice . The retrofuturistic aesthetic is often a perilous way with many gimmicky or caricatural guitars made. But yours is very nice , balanced and ergonomically sound it seems. Very elegant headstock, i must say i'm very difficult to please with that part. Superb paint, with that lustrous half mat finish.
Absolutely fantastic! Your use of hand tools is inspiring. I hope I can reach that level of quality guitar building one day!

Great work, but regarding using a chisel or gouge make sure to never turn it towards you. Also, resting against it with your thumb and anchoring your fingers further away does not really serve a purpose. Push the chisel with your dominant hand, or use a mallet, and use your other hand to guide it and stop it from going further than you want.

Digging the router sled leveling station at the start of the video. Came for the guitar, stayed for the tools. What woods did you use for the neck and body BTW?

I used Marupá (Simarouba Amara Aubl., Simaroubaceae.) for the body. It's a very light brazilian wood, and great to work with. For the neck I used African Mahogany (Khaya Grandifoliola). And for the freatboard torrified Pau Ferro (Machaerium scleroxylon).
