In this video I’ll be rebuilding a retro 1992 Claud Butler Spectre mountain bike. Even with a 531 frame this beast weighs 16.34 KG! Sturdy you might say.. Quite good condition for its age but had problems including: Broken brake / gear levers (also incorrect period) headset seal hanging out, change of rear cassette and just in need of good service. Wheel bearings were good and sealed bottom bracket good but a full strip down, clean and rebuild to get his bike riding like the day it came off the shelf back in 92
