I guess it's laundry week! After washing clothes I thought it would be nice to iron some long set aside linens that were in hiding. Finally getting the knack of this steam iron. The sounds are so nostalgic for me. Nowadays, ironing is rather a lost art so the next generation may not be able to relate to these sounds. This is for those of us who still do and for the curious young who aren't acquainted with this sound.

The texture of the material being ironed with that “hissing” sound. The sounds the metal makes.. oh my.. it is soothing to my ears!

This brings back memories - when my mother used to iron and I’d be doing my homework at the table. I remember it used to make me feel relaxed and sleepy! The steam sounds and sloshing of water in the iron. No wonder my homework was sometimes sloppy!! Haha.. lovely video Rebecca 😊

Such special memories. I have similar. But not as pronounced. It mostly reminds me of when mom taught me to iron. She said I was good at it and then enlisted me to do some of it. She was no dummy. 😂 Thank you, Elizabeth.
My mother loves to iron and when I was little I would watch her. Totally nostalgic.

Time to watch this even though I watched the talking version 😅 This reminds me of my art class in middle school; when we’d do watercolor it would warp the paper so after we finished painting we’d lay a sheet of newspaper over our painting and then iron it flat. It always gave me so many tingles!

OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH ❤❤ I remember sitting in the living room with my mum and she would be ironing the clothes, and I would just be getting tingles. I missed your ironing videos

so glad that i was raised by my parents right 😂 i’m 21 and absolutely love ironing. it’s too bad that now i live in too small of an apartment for an ironing board, the small fold up ones just aren’t the same :( i’m pretty sure my sewing class in high school had this exact same iron to press all our seams and quilt blocks!

Hey! 👋🏻 haven't heard from you in a while. Happy to see your comment. Totally remember sewing class. For me, way back when, it was called home economics. We did everything that you would do around the house. Someday you'll have your own home and a nice big ironing board. 🙏🏻

you’re making me want to go thrifting, it’s been awhile since i have. there’s this one really cool thrift shop in my city that has all kinds of vintage stuff. if they work, i have no idea, but they don’t put crazy prices on most stuff so it’s worth it to find out. i could always use said things for decor if not. the most pricy thing i’ve seen there was a vintage wheelchair for $200 i believe!
