My wife and I have lived in JefCo WV since 1986. It's a good fit for us. We do the homestead exemption. It works out well for us.

I grew up in Jeff County !!!

Income tax is illegal anyway and always has been in every state. Citizens should be reimbursed!

We are as well, we currently live near Tampa

I live and work in NC but i have a hideaway/house in Quinwood, taxes are LOW and it's quieter than a library there!!!! It's the last frontier and much safer than living in thug infested cesspools!!

As an avid hiker/skier and someone that loves the outdoors and grew up in WV and has moved away for work over the years, I'm hoping to retire around the Davis/Cannan Valley WV area someday, my only real worry is the healthcare in the state is not good(as someone that grew up there and spent 20 years in the state, it hasn't got much better these days).

Great video, thanks! Might want to add veteran benefits and VA hospital location in your next vid.

West Virginia has very low property taxes and has the highest home ownership rate in the country due to it's low housing prices ,great for retirees and remote workers.

My wife family are from boone county wv and in to weeks we are moving to boone county wv from Indiana as for me this is all now to me because I have always lived in indiana my life we come down to visit I am very very Nervous do you have anything that may help me on this big move

How much is a 2 b/r apartment in differant areas of W.V.? Also, I'm a DAV so I like to be fairly close to a VA Hospital.

There is a large VA medical center in Huntington (western most part of the state.)

It’s really going to depend on where in the state you’re looking. $290k is around the average price right now statewide, but that can swing down quite a bit if you look further from city centers. There are fewer job opportunities and variety too the further out you go from places like Charleston and Morgantown. There’s a lot of great broadband expansion going on statewide along with Starlink expected to roll out all over the state soon. Really becomes important to check on specific areas down to the neighborhood when it comes to internet reception. We cover a lot of this more in depth in our other videos. Interesting video but in your 10 reasons not to live in WVA you really ripped the health care system....so which is it? I mean the US overall has crappy health care so it is all relative......
