ABQ was a pretty cool city. But it's not the city I once remembered. One area of great concern is health care. Access is horrible and its mostly because you got almost half on medicaid. Doctors are leaving because of low reimbursement and there is no tort reform. Sue happy indigents have caused mal practice insurance to increase exponentially. The politics are driving the businesses into the ground. The "hate" is based on really bad policy. The political base is supported by an economy of people that want nothing but to be disabled and live off of government hand outs. The governor's main interests of concern was to make sure her base got their little blue packet to make sure there is no lapse of medicaid coverage. And she will always throw a stimulus at them right before elections. And now we have hundreds of pot stores for all these indigents that don't want to work. And they still can't figure out why they can't pass a drug test. Legalizing pot was the worst thing for ABQ. Look at all the other cities that did that before. They are all going down. Portland, Cali, Denver to name a few.

Nevada has horrible healthcare too. @@HiPlains1But we definitely lean more to the right. Only vegas leans more to the left. My concern in the NM region is the lack of jobs other than work from home and of course the healthcare. Crime is an issue in many parts of NM as well. Even Nevada has a ton of jobs but they dont seem to hire too many people.

I’ve heard the crime in abq is pretty bad

Anyone considering a move to ABQ should be aware of the immense crime which has become a way of life there. That’s what drove me away from there after just 3 years. The criminals are quite skilled and ruthless.

Hi Skip, I've been watching a couple of your videos and I was wondering rather than retiring, if you recommend young married couple having any luck moving to NM long-term? I am actually getting married this year and my fiancé and I have always lived in California and although we could technically afford a condo here, we see the wiggle room/home ownership with little to no HOA more attractive in NM. I think what is holding us back from moving out of our state is lack of job opportunities and the fear of not finding one with our skill sets. Although I see many KZread videos of people enjoying retiring here, I also noticed a majority of the younger NM natives move to metro cities like Phoenix or New York in pursuit of jobs so I am curious on your thoughts on this.

Go to Chandler, Gilbert, or any small city in Arizona. Please don't come here it's very dangerous. Children killing people because they all have guns... Thieves, Murderers, Road Rage, Car Jack, Rapist, Drug's galore. Listen to me I've been robbed outside a store, and my house broken into in February. My mail stolen too. Run...

How about car insurance compared with other states?
