RESURRECTION Challenge System | Revive Dungeons and Dragons Characters

Ойындар

This Homebrew Resurrection System for Dungeons and Dragons will make Player Characters coming back from the Dead a HUGE part of your story. Death and Resurrection in D&D should be big moments at your table, this system adds that suspense to resurrections and uncertainty that their friend will be able to come back! This system was modified from Matt Mercer from Critical Role. Players are able to make offerings to bring them back adding to both the characters AND players emotional connection and Role Play! Some of my favorite Dungeons and Dragons moments have came from using this system! I also go over my homebrew modifications to Resurrection Spells in D&D and how I would change them, along with bonus tips to customize your game table even more!

In the game that I'm running, 2 of the characters were father and son, the father being a paladin and the son a barbarian. During a failed attack against the BBEG the Father(Paladin) ended up being slain by the BBEG and ruthlessly killed in front of the son. One of the undead minions dragged away the fathers body and escaped and the rest of the battle came down close with the son flying into a rage almost dying himself, before they decided to retreat. Upon scrying later on BBEG they found out that the Fallen Father had been turned into a death knight (the player thought this was awesome when it was revealed.) The son wanting revenge ended up making a deal with a devil later on for aid against an assault on the BBEG and with his fallen fathers holy symbol in hand multi classed down the road as a vengeance paladin, with a devilish story twist. Now the party has been working hard in a continental war as the BBEG has been attacking and conquering different cities with the father who was a conquest paladin, now death knight, while the party tries to stop them and gain their vengeance for that day. This multi month character development set of games was because of death in DND. The whole battle was a full on Rule by rule turn based battle and the rules of the fight wrote this epic 5 hour fight. and if the paladin was just rezzed it wouldn't have been as impactful. I'm not saying that characters being rezzed is a terrible thing, classes have those spells for a reason and its fun to use them, but death can be a HUGE for the story of the game if people are afraid of it, and it actually means something. Thanks for reading my story :)

I feel like the logic on revivify is flawed. Not to discount the feeling he wants in his game. Looking at death from a more scientific point of view, along with the very name of revivify, it's not a resurrection spell, it's a revival spell. The brain doesn't die for 5 minutes (unless the killing blow was to the brain) so giving the players the equivalent of an adrenaline shot to restart the heart inside of a minute doesn't seem like that much of a stretch. I do still see the value of removing it from the game in this way, but the value of doing so is for flavor, feeling, atmosphere rather than anything else.

Alaric Silver-Lord The biggest thing I’ve seen from the comments are cool things like what you’re saying, I feel like if you give death enough threat at your table. And research directed in the right ways, dispel could have some good uses. I’m gonna put a lot of these thoughts in a follow up video I plan to do on this. I love your scientific approach too!

Congratulations on 25k views 🎉 Death is a great part of any fantastical story - Rogue One, Harry Potter, BOROMIR!! As a DM I killed a 2nd level Noble Human Bard with an owlbear in the 7th session of our campaign, which was a bit of a shock! Afterwards I met with the player outside of normal game time and we had a partly in-character (with the Gatekeeper type Demi-God) and partly out of character chat about how to move forward. We built a temporary Simic Hybrid Criminal Rogue so they could join in while the party quested for the resources to Reincarnate the bard, but the player enjoyed being the slightly edgier character so much that even after the Reincarnation (now as a Noble Firbolg Bard) she’s stuck with her new Rogue! Some really cool character AND player development as the Noble (now NPC) is trying to come to terms with a truly massive change to her identity, and the player got to step out of their comfort zone!

I love the idea of players being creative and coming up with how they want to assist the ritual, I was also playing around with another idea where each player would offer up a % of their HP, this could be done in secret such as passing notes to the DM is desired, but the idea is that the caster would use the life force of those willing to assist in the ritual. Based on the % stated, they would have to roll a con save and side effects range from nothing, losing that about of HP, HP max lowering, or in extreme cases, their own death. Things to consider would be if the % they are offering is more than their current HP level, or at/near the same (such as 100%), and any conditions they may have on them. In the end the % used (not total HP, cause its more a spiritual how hard you want it sort of thing), reduces the ritual roll by 1 to 3 per player. Just an idea at this point, but I think it's interesting :)

I love revivify and think of it as cleric defibrillator, or chest massage and mouth to mouth breathing. I have downed it's timer to 2 rounds instead of 1 minute, and it is only Resurrection spell that does not need to pass the Resurrection challenge. It is only spell that real life doctors can actually perform, so I love it.

I do not mind revify. In that minute that is passing, the character is not truly dead, it is some sort of clinical death, which can still be undone. But I allow this spell only if a creature died by death saving throws, if it was smashed so hard, getting over minus negative max hp, then something was ripped off their body and Revify cannot be processed. Same with similar effects like reducing a stat or max hp to zero. Or if in this minute the body was further mutilated of some sort. I treat it as a small (but expensive) card getting out of jail free, just picture it like fantasy CPR. As for ressurection, maybe a miniquest adventuring in some astral planes or something, getting the soul of the fallen comrade and putting back to its body.

Yea after making this video I have definitely seen some great points about Revivify being a last second chance to catch the spirit before it leaves! I’d still probably have it be 3 rounds or so instead of a full minute. I definitely have a more aggressive approach but I love the story that you’re talking about. Sending them on a quest to get their friend back is also EPIC!

Or there is a mechanic called “Soul Pinning” where a cleric can use part of their soul to tie it to another, but the draw back is it can only happen once towards each character So the cleric could only do this once to each of his party members

As a player of games, I totally understand why there is a monetary cost for bringing back PCs from the dead, but as a story teller, I don't like that. I would definitely require at least a quest, if not giving up something even less tangible, like a PC's sense of taste, or the love of someone they care about. Defeating death definitely needs to feel BIG and earned. MY BRAIN JUST GAVE ME AN AMAZING IDEA! Imagine contingent resurrection, which is to say that the spell works, for a while - a few days or weeks, but to make the resurrection permanent, the risen person must complete a specific task - which means in a way that they get to participate in the quest to return their own character to life! How cool is that?

I know I'm late but my homebrew system has two categories: players who worshipped a deity or attracted their attention and players who don't. If you worship a deity it requires a Charisma (Religion) check on behalf of the caster, and if not it automatically works but you roll a d6. 1-2 means you become good, 3-4 is evil and 5-6 is neutral. That basically means that your character is changed by this experience, and the amount of "goodness" inside them may change

Oh my Lord, you're a genius my friend. I'm going to take your idea, and raise you something... for each hour the target has been dead, the DC is also raised by 2, which would grant increased benefit to those spells which can preserve a body like Toll the Dead (or whatever you call it in your game). *Edit* nevermind, kept going in your video and I see you touch on this haha. Your homebrew rules are so great man! I'm currently writing a new TTRPG, and if you're willing, I'd love to throw some ideas your way, and even take some of your ideas as contributions. My goal is to make an amazing RPG for all to enjoy, and I believe that DnD 5e, has a few flaws, as does every RPG I know, but with great minds like yours, perhaps we can make one with minimal flaws.

At my table, I homebrewed Mercer’s system as well. I disliked revivify and felt it was well out of balance with my system for many of the reasons you discussed. My players still wanted it. So, revivify RAW is available, but a revived character must roll a d20 and that’s the number of days (+CON mod) to be raised/resurrected. The character knows this number for drama. D20 could be d-whatever based on table choice. Also, my table really hates permanent-death so I’ve had to add the ability for True Resurrection and Wish to undo a failed resurrection ritual. It requires more resources and the DC starts at 18. Great job, and thanks.

  • @stm7810
    @stm78103 жыл бұрын

I'm fine with revivify, since a 3rd level spell is powerful, it's stronger than modern grenades as fireball, subconsciously understanding magic enough to counter it in a fraction of a second, 5th level character stuff, I even would say it's able to remove all exhaustion, but it will not bring someone back from a massive damage death since those are always violent deaths that destroy the body beyond getting back up. I love the DC for resurection idea, even if I'm unsure on it myself.

I'm obviously watching this video because I'm thinking about making resurrection harder, because I agree with you. Except I think of Revivify more as a magical and instant version of CPR. (provided the soul wants to come back) You know, you get there within the minute there's still a chance to scoop them out of death's grasp. It's still a hefty price tag for lower level adventurers; and the creature is only stabilised like they would have been before that last death save fail. I'd let my player characters perform CPR and it would be the same thing. You need to get to the body as quickly as possible, not everyone can successfully do it and it only stabilises a creature, not fully heals them.

The challenge of resurrecting a character is the price of the materials to cast the spell. Most characters are not going to have the gold or the 5000 gp diamond to resurrect a character. It's your job as a DM to limit resources for resurrection. Another thing is the character has to be willing to return after death. Some characters wouldn't want to be brought back to life. Thoughts in no particular order: Instead of reducing the DC, I would give the rezzie a bonus for contributions. I know the math works out the same, but it seems more satisfying to say "your comrades give you +6 on this roll." It also seems in line with the rest the game as it seems like modifiers almost never change DCs but instead modify the roll. Would you allow the rezzie to receive and use Bardic Inspiration? RAW says no. I'd be inclined to allow it at least in lieu of one of the 3 contributions. If not, I guess the Bard could allows inspire contributors. I'm seriously considering having being brought back from the dead reduce a character's CON by 1. The exception might be Reincarnate. Why? Because my Reincarnation Tables include the chance of coming back as an animal. Congratulations! You're a talking wolf. In one campaign setting, only the clerics of the Death God had access to resurrection magic. Want to bring someone back you had to make a deal with them (which usually meant a quest).

Jon Osborne what an awesome death cleric story! Love it! I totally see your reasoning for the modifier instead of the DC change, here’s why I do it this way: Since I modify the actual DC... THAT is the exact number the d20 has to be on the table once that player rolls it... so they lower the DC to 6, everyone knows they need to see the number 6 on the physical dice at this MASSIVE climactic moment. If we did a modifier and the roll happened... now there’s this staggered moment of people doing math in their heads. Or you would say “so your modifier is a plus ____ so you only need a ____ to roll... which is now essentially the same as changing the DC. That’s just my reasoning, but i totally agree with your points too! Bardic inspiration, sadly no, this mechanic trumps ALL other mechanics, the math that a bard could add could break the system/ tension AND that finally roll for everything I just stated previously... wouldn’t be as FINAL since there’s another dice rolling around But TOTALLY inspire their allies, maybe even multiple if it makes sense for their contribution rolls

@@TheDungeonCoach I also prefer to alter the TN rather than the modifiers to the roll, but I do that for everything because I feel like the modifiers to the roll should only come from the character making the roll (skills and capabilities), outside factors that change the difficulty of the task being attempted should change the TN instead because that is the number that represents exactly that.

Hoping to get back to it here soon, though. And I always love your output, lol! Even though I was thoroughly in the camp of "Resurrection cheapens death and reduces that most important and dramatic of risks to nothing more than a setback", I still greatly appreciate the way you approached it here, with emphasis on chance of failure, group cooperation, and story/setting significance. In fact, you've given me great ideas and pause for thought and now I'm actually considering being open to the possibility of allowing SOME chances for resurrection in my own campaigns in the future. WITH setting/style/story consistent logic for the magic and rituals by which it is accomplished AND if it can be done in a dramatically satisfying and appropriately character driven way that DOESN'T kill the tension and development that the death of the character brought. ... Excellent content as always @the Dungeon Coach! The spells for bringing someone back across the board also only work on one who is willing to come back, and this mostly an issue when dealing with NPCs as most PCs are just going to come back because it could either seriously mess up group dynamics forcing a character back that was ready to go or insanely solidify them depending on character/player. Any who this can be a fantastic story element for a dead NPC that the exhausts resources on and performs the spell just for that NPC's soul not to return. A Speak with Dead later and they find the individual either lived their life purpose or feels they are no longer worthy to finish it or sone other major plot twist like their soul is imprisoned! The act of restoring life just has so many plot angles to work! As for the suggested system, I know you mention near the end *spoilers for whoever has not watched so no looking* other ways that might be used if the challenge fails and I feel really it is a necessity if you have a player really wanting to bring the character back. It could be that each spell if successful fully opens the door for the soul to return but if it fails the door is ajar then instead of fully open. As I did with a player once that was unsure if they wanted to bring their character or start a new one, the character's soul was on the Fugue Plane awaiting judgement when his party casts Resurrection. The character (and player) are hesitant to answer the call and his indecisiveness summons a manifestation of himself that is the embodiment of his ambitions and goals. They start a combat but not with weapons with words. Every time the manifestation throws a question at him he cant answer he took damage, as the character made up his mind and either answered the patronizing questions or started making declarations of who he was deep down and what he truly wanted, the manifestation took more damage until with a smile it fell at his feet and was absorbed back in. The player and character had made up their mind what they wanted to do and soon awoke to super sad party that thought their efforts had failed! It was great :D! Another great option is make these spells only available to certain entities, like an Androsphinx who has Cleric spells. Substitute out a spell for Raise Dead or just add a once a month casting of Resurrection. The entity will provide the service but the party has to perform a service for it before or after the ritual is done. I feel the restriction of 10 years is a big extreme for a 9th level spell as there might be a cult started by a BBEG from yester decades pasts that has been playing its return a century or two later when its enemies are weaker. Maybe lower the material cost if you keep the 10 year restriction and for every example of the expensive/rare material component added you can increase the number of years by the 10 year increment? This would allow story development as knowing NPCs can see the traffic of this rare component increasing to one specific group which makes them suspicious of what is going on!!! Well there's my over complicated two cents. Hope someone doesn't die trying to read it and if they then the tips in this video are used to bring them back!

taeurus haha epic comment as usual!! I LOVE the androsphinx example and the resurrection restriction! Good one! Players being brought back on failed rituals would be an extra quest/ arch they have to go on for make it happen, but I’d never tell a player... no they are dead forever if that was their heart and soul For the 10 year thing, I made that change for the generic casting of it at the player level. And you can still cast it at 11-20 years but it’s a +1 to the DC, so you could totally still do it 200 years would be a + 19 to the DC of 10... for a total of 29... which feels perfect to me for such a task 👌🏼😉

Win or lose the scent of death is on you now, maybe be fulfilling your patrons geas will restore you? Maybe instead of removing Revivify completely, change it to where it only removes that 3rd Death Save, leaving the player once again unstable and actively dying? Obviously this wouldn't apply to deaths from "massive damage". In addition, Revivify must be cast within 3 rounds, if the character has been dead for longer than 3 rounds, Revivify may be cast with a higher level spell slot, with each slot allowing 2 additional round (max 5 for 4th level, max 7 at 5th, etc).

I'm on board with all of this except removing Revivify. While I understand the logic, the image of a cleric snatching hold of a soul before it has a chance to depart is such a powerful image. I'd be more inclined to have it work the same way as the other resurrection spells, but with rapidly diminishing chance of success. If a character dies, Revivify can bring snatch them back. All the ways of contributing to the spontaneous ritual still apply, but the DC climbs by 2 every round they're dead. If everyone can get there immediately, your odds are good, if not...

The old way is the best way. Look up system shock and use percentages of success based off of the characters CON then if they succeed reduce their CON score by one. System shock is also cool for massive damage or getting burned or struck my lightning. The homebrew I've done for my resurrection is diamonds are controlled by the church and inflated in price and you need a diamond worth 1k gp per character level to resurrect a PC. Furthermore spirits can bleed through with the PCs soul so the party may have to fight powerful undead during the resurrection.

Well, this problem is one I've basically solved by playing in a gritty low magic setting. Revivify does not exist (there I agree with you!) and other Ressurrection spells just take A LOT of levels (like... 3-4 years of real life time gaming every weekend). If you get that far, congratulations, you have ressurrection powers. Also, you could search for people with this powers, but they are often recluse and shrouded in legend. Aditionally, every time someone comes back from death, he or she loses 1 permanent Point of Constitution, because this stuff takes its tool on a human body, and the scars from death usually still exist (for example, a guy who was decapitated would have horrible scars on his neck).

I've been thinking about what to do with a damage type that's worse than necrotic damage and this could be one of the things it does. Maybe it damages the soul and makes it so the soul has to heal or something like that. I've also been wanting some kind of demonic type damage whereas necrotic would be more like undead damage and it would be how some demon attacks bypass damage resistance.

Late to the party, I know. Still, let me throw my 5 cents here: I personally find it weird the price tags for ressurection. First off.. it doesn't really do it thematically.. basically, whole ressurection bussiness is just bribing charon to fetch the soul back, and possibly some minor powers to fix up the body. That's... it just feels wrong. Ressurection should be thing that just doesn't happen normally. If it was just about the money, no monarch would ever die. Second.. the price tags are supposed to limit the number of castings... but if you actually run the math with expected treasures and such.. it basically comes up to 1 ressurection per character per session. That's... not really limiting, is it? My solution? Well.. I don't have one that would be tested, but here are some ideas: - Remove ressurecting spells alltogether. Maybe with exception of Revivify which doesn't outright revive the fallen.. just allows the caster roll death saves (using their casting mod instead of CON) for the fallen. Like always 3 successes = alive, but unconscious; crit success = bring back to 1 hp. Still, maybe not have it as spell, but as feat obtainable as quest reward, or at level-up as reward for roleplaying dedicated healer. - If you want to be nice: Reincarante & Ressurection are both moved from being spells to being 20th level features for Druid & Cleric respectively. Usable once per long rest. - If you want to be cruel: Reincarante & Ressurection aren't powers learnable by adventurers. They might be effects of ancient artifacts (e.g. shrine of resurrection from BotW), or things that require years of study. Cue quest to find that elusive hermit who is rumored to live somewhere in Black Forest, and is said to achieved ressurection of the dead. In either case, make the price hurt the player characters (and , by extension, players), not their wallets.

People seem to fall into 2 camps of character creation: Adventure League Creation Rules : 15 14 13 12 10 08, and you work with that and Home Rules League creation: Dice rolls that some how always create an 18 18 18 16 14 12 or more powerful character, + X number of Bonus feats + X number of magic items + insanely powerful homebrew and nothing in between... To me revivify is like a defrib. You need it nearby for it to be any use, and it has to be used quickly, but shouldn't be too rare, and most places that can afford it would want it nearby. That cost also has to be in the form of diamonds, so the party has to be prepared, and they get consumed, so the party cant spam the spell. Also, the spell only restores the player to 1 hp, so it isn't even effective at returning them to the fight. A ruling that the spell leaves the revived person unconscious is reasonable, but not removing it from the game all together, particularly if you have systems such as secret death saves.

What are your thoughts about tweaking revivify to make it a specialized form of healing magic that brings them back with only a spark of life left to them? For such a specialized and intricate form of healing, I would require that the caster have medicine proficiency before they can even attempt the spell AND they have to make a medicine check, with the success/fail altering the spell DC for the revivify to work. Thus, it is no longer a given that casting revivify will be successful and applies a similar, albeit abbreviated, check routine for the caster.

Everything but getting rid of revivify made sense. Higher levels, players go down pretty quick, and I sometimes have to blame the unbalanced fights by the dm to test them. Getting someone back into their body should be easier if it just happens. As a nurse, a little CPR goes a long way. Divine intervention goes further. There needs to be in battle a way to heal a party member, but it shouldnt cost the whole parties gold to do it. Sometimes letting a player die in battle gets the rest of the party killed.

Comming from a different PnP Game, The Dark Eye, i was suppriesd how easy it was to "die" and be brought back to life. In TDE when you reach 5 hp, you fall unconscious or you can only crawl(DM has the say), if you reach 0 you are dying, you can go into negativ, but if that negative reaches your constitution number. You are dead. Want to be brought back to life? BOY, there is only one "Miracle", a spell type for priests. That can be used for that. And only the followers of Tsa, one of the 12 Gods, know that. And has to be used very shortly after the death. Minutes, not hours. And even if brought back, it dosent mean the character still has the same Nature. Tsa, is the Godess of Birth, Rebirth and creation. So nearly all who follow her are pacifists. Some of that nature flows into the one resurrected. The other methods are even harder, you would have to search for ancient relics, finds some ancient high elfs or dragons who know how to use them, and then have luck it works. The one time we had someone dying, it was a priest of a different god. A other priest begged his gods, and my char not currently a priest but has followed Tsa's direction begged to Tsa. The dead pc came back, but lost some part of their power from their god, because it was used as a bargain, between the Gods. And my character had to become a priest of Tsa. Getting some spells, but a huge amount of exp i had to pay back. So currently i cant raise any stats or abilities until i paid that back. And we had to help the resurrected with the harrowing experience of dying. That even after weeks of ingame time was not fully healed. I dont know if the story gives some ideas how to handle things in D&D. Maybe only clerics of a certain God can resurrect players, and has to be at least to be able to cast a 7th lvl spell. I am perfectly fine with the standard D&D rules, but i am rather new to D&D.

I feel revivify isn’t too OP if you use components, it costs 300 gp worth of gems specifically to cast. I don’t know a lot of clerics or paladins that specifically go to town to use their gold on diamonds. I feel revivify is more a VERY expensive defibrillator

As long as resurrection is possible, death is mostly meaningless and there's no real consequences for players. I'm okay with revivify, because it gives you only a minute to revive someone. I look at this as sort of, the soul lingers around the body for a minute after the apparent death, and the revivify spell doesn't just heal the target, but also restarts heart and brain functions. I'm actually removing resurrection from my games. Here's why: In my current story, the party has met a wizard who belongs to a council of high-level wizards. This wizard is the newest member of the council, and consequently, lowest level, and the party didn't even know about the council when they met him. He's been guiding their adventures and has been a mentor to the party wizard. However, while the party was off on a quest, the BBEG rode off on his white dragon and destroyed the village that has been the party's home, killing their wizard patron. Now, the party, guided by a magical memory left for them by their patron, is heading off to find another member of the council who is going to take them with her to the council meeting where they will discuss finding a new wizard to replace their lost member. While at this meeting, an assassin attempts to poison the council. Now, if resurrection is a possibility, they could just resurrect the dead wizard. Also, the whole assassination plot would be pointless. The existence of resurrection limits the types of stories you can tell. As long as someone can come back from the dead, and doing so takes little more than some diamonds, then death really has no meaning for higher-leveled characters. There are, of course, ways to trap the soul in order to prevent resurrection, but that also requires high level magic, which means you have to work out why a resurrection fails, often giving the villain access to more powerful spells to stop it. Sometimes you just want a frozen wizard to stay dead. Sometimes you just want an assassin to poison someone.

  • @MFTGShane
    @MFTGShane3 жыл бұрын

Could you not keep revivify and just make it a +4 to the resurrection DC. Also make it that any attempt to resurrect a soul increase the DC by an amount, revivify increases the overall DC by 4, reincarnate by 3, resurrection by 2, and true resurrection by 1. Restrict keep revivify to 10 rounds, and just set the starting DC to 12, and make all contributions reduce by 2 normally, and 1 for parties 6 or more. This means for revivify, all members need to beat the DC 18 (12 + 2 for the death + 4 for the revivify). Passes reduce this by 2, meaning at best case scenario revivify is a huge risk especially in combat, everyone would be either giving up a round or 2 to give their contributions, the spell Caster is giving up their round plus the spell slot, and the party has a time crunch as they only have 10 rounds to do the spell all for the end to end in a coin flip.

I really love your videos and I've been watching many of them to get "caught up" recently. General question, why do D&D KZread creators like yourself and Matt Colville (as examples) casually bring up major story points from Critical Role like everyone watching your videos is caught up to where you are referring without any *Spoiler Warnings*. Just through osmosis from internet culture I already had the tidbit from 7:30 spoiled for me, though I'm watching Campaign 2 now for the first time. I guess there is a general sense that any content a year or more older is fair game but you never know when someone will get into Critical Role or D&D in general and I think it does a disservice to that person who gets spoiled before even starting it. Just my two cents for constructive criticism, but honestly its more commentary on the culture than on you. [Something super similar exists for a show like The Mandalorian, and the effects of it releasing 12am Friday PST and how the internet sees nothing as sacred]. Keep making great content, but watch out for potential spoilers please.

Yeah.... you're "homebrew" resurrections rules are "inspired" by Matt Mercer, if you read his Tal'dorei campaign guide this is the exact same rules with very minor number changes. DC increase by 2 for every death instead of Matt's 1, and DC doesn't change Vs Matt's increase by one for every failed help check. I was sent to this channel by a veteran DM , and this is the last video I'll watch because every video I've pulled up you act like you "invented" these "amazing" ideas. When in reality your taking others work and tweaking it so the Teacher doesn't know you cheated on the test.

  • @TheDungeonCoach

hollowtpm I have always referenced where my inspiration comes from each time I say a rule, so that’s not cheating at all, and is giving respect where it is due, and showing how I do death at my table. I make changes that I feel are appropriate for the vibe of my table. In this video I also talk about how ANYONE could tweak this system (as I have) to find the right balance of death at your game table. With your logic I would just “not be allowed” to speak on any systems of others?? That doesn’t make sense to me. I also reference the person who created it... which again isn’t me pawning it off as my own... I have also said in at least 4 different videos, that I hope people take MY homebrews and do the same... literally next weeks Homebrew video that I already filmed says that. This is what this whole Homebrew community is about... taking cool systems and showing how you can make it your own. It seems that to in are so locked in to this mind set that I can’t even display to my audience one of the best DMs out there’s great idea and my little spin I put on it... You yourself even said I made 3 changes... and I referenced it... So if all that makes you so upset... and you don’t enjoy collaboration and tweaking rules to best fit your table... no matter how large of one... then yes my channel is not for you, dislike the video and move on. I don’t think we’ll see eye to eye about how what I did with Matt Mercer’s rule is a positive thing and exactly what I would want MY viewers to do with the multiple rules that I did create from scratch. - I’ve created things from scratch - I’ve done massive tweaks on homebrews that I didn’t like at all - I’ve also done very small tweaks to GREAT ideas... like this one... so your concern/ outrage/ scolding of me... does not make sense So I wish you the best and I am sorry to have offended, but I was transparent about the source and always say that I hope others do the same to rules I lay out there... don’t know what else I could do. All the best.
