Restoring & Servicing Multiplier Fishing Reel

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Servicing and re-painting my multiplier fishing reel - Daiwa saltist 30h
I decided it was time to service and clean up one of my favourite fishing reels my saltist 30h multiplier reel.
over the years this reel has had its fair share of knocks and scrapes and has had quite a bit of use the last time i tried to open the reel to service it the screws had seized and one of the screws heads snapped off and i couldn't get the side plate off. so in order to service the reel i had to take drastic measures in drilling it to be able to get the side plate off so the reel could be cleaned out, re greased and oiled.
while i had the reel stripped down and all of the parts out i stripped the old paint off and re-sprayed it using primer, top coat and clear coat.
I cleaned all the parts inside of the reel and put the reel back together.
This was the first time i have re painted a multiplier and although im not an expert at spray painting im happy with the way it turned out.
Thanks for watching.

I know how much effort it took to refurb the reel and to make the vid. And it was beautiful to watch, so much work but very rewarding i presume. I would never attempt it, at all. Great vid Gary.

Well done mate! I found your video to be oddly satisfying. I own 2 of those reels and it's good to know I can restore them if neccessary. I take very good care of my gear so I hope I never have to restore it. Great video.

Thanks for making this video Gary, really enjoyed watching and have learned from it. I have been offered a Daiwa Multiplier for a very good price, but cosmetically it’s a mess. After watching yourself, I’m really thinking about giving it a go, you’ve inspired me! Should I need any spare parts, how easy are they to get hold of? Regards to yourself, David.

Thanks David, I needed a new set of screws for mine i got in touch with daiwa and they sent me a full set out pretty much straight away. They should have all the spare parts for the reel that you need.

@@fishingintheukgarywood great... As you had to paint over the red daiwa saltist logo on the frame I was wondering if there are decals available or are you just using the reel without the logo??
