Restoring an Old Beer Hand Pump - 1900s Style

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

In this restoration video I will restore ,I bought this ale pump online auction from a widow unfortunately her husband passed away and never completed his man cave
It was from an old pub from the west coast gold mining area, I Believe from the early 1900s the pump itself was made in Christchurch New Zealand my hometown We'll be taking apart the old ale pump and bringing it back to its original glory
Taking a lot longer to restore this than I originally thought it would take , but I'm very happy with the restoration project
I hope you enjoy watching I hope to earn your subscription today

Question though when you said too much lead for food product you meant the lead they used to wield the top of the pump to the handle part and the bottom correct ? Which you reolaced with the JB wield I bekieve because thats basically steel and the whole thing is made of Brass I believe, am I correct?

Thanks Mohamed for watching the beer passing through to the tap was exposed to the solder which is got a high lead content, the other thing I was considering is the solder has a low melting point at 185 degrees Celsius JB weld 287 degrees Celsius, and powder coating is done at 200 degrees Celsius, I was considering powder coating with a clear coat ,JB weld has given me more options to work with

hi Shaun ,it's a balancing act between getting enough engaging shots and too much. the folder file size is 550 gig i have to trim it down to 21 gig and keep it under 30 minutes ,the wooden handle was left original because it felt like 100 years old and I didn't what to strip it of all its history , thanks for your feed back cheers Richard

Having your name and/or logo in the background or at random places in the scenes would help. Ths owner at Really Random Channel does this because he's had trouble with content thieves. Even a watermark in a corner would be beneficial as the thief would have to blur it out, which would be a clue to watchers that it was not original.
