Never thought a old vehicle restoration record could ever filmed so compactly yet so poeticly.
Wonderful series, Gary. Very inspirational and delightful.
In my home country, Albania, around 3/4ths of cars on the road are classic Mercedes (W123/W124/W126, etc), especially Diesels, many of which are run on waste vegetable oil. Classic Mercedes Diesels are the only vehicles which offer most (if not all) features of a modern car, without any of the gimmicky excess, but, in an analogue package which is infinitely maintainable & infinitely serviceable.

@@BillyWatersIE Yes they dominate the Mercedes Benz lifestyle more than any other country in the world. Even the Arab nations.
Your attention to detail and craftsmanship Gary, is always worth it!
Kudos to whoever edited all the footage together. A class channel in so many ways.
Lovely, Gary...the gentle and soothing music helps the viewing experience. It’s a shame that some other car restoration projects need to rely on crash, bang, wallop music with their videos. !..thanks very much...

Yeah his music is truly amazing. I was sad to see at the very end he cut out the music out since it always puts a smile on my face when i hear it. Maybe it was for this one episode only. I hope!
Stunning restoration of a stunning car. Absolutely it was worth it.

I have to agree with that statement.
Awesome resume, and yes it was worth it as long as the owner takes good care of it and appreciates the beauty of this car!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻Thanks!
Excellent video as per usual Gary, I think my heartbeat slows down to 2 beats a minute watching you’re videos 😊, so therapeutic for some reason, has to be the music 🎶.
Gorgeous. Better than money in the bank any day.
I've watched the entire series but couldn't resist watching this summary. Brilliant content, superb production values and its free to air?! The World's gone mad but I love your passion for the task in hand and only wish I was half as capable- truly great work in all aspects, well done 👍
It was well worthy Gary What a recosnstrution Always amazed with your work
Brilliant video. Crisply edited with no excess waffle from the narrator. And the car looks fabulous. Well done.

I thoroughly enjoyed this series Gary. My favorite part was the refresh of the interior. There is nothing like beautiful, original leather with the natural patina you simply can’t recreate.
I love watching your episodes Gary , you are a very talented guy, keep them coming mate
It’s so delightful watch this videos, true motivation to preserve what I already own.
My favorite KZread channel. I always smile when I get a notice that a new episode has landed. Thank you Gary from Across the pond. 🇺🇸

Worth it? Hell yeh! The job you did on that poor old car was a masterful stroke and the final edit was magical. A real pleasure to behold. Well done you!
Another classic saved! That is worth something.
Yeah - Definately worth it !! I loved seeing the Merc being recommisioned from start to finish and your usual no-nonse methodical approach 🙂 - Gotta be a TV Series in the offering here Gary ? Cheers Stew Stew

Amazing. XX K&D
Great job 👏
Nice work, well done ! Adidas Classic trainees caught my attention more than the cars as I thought you had a a pair of original SL 72 on.
Just like magic
I still can't believe the amount of work that Gary put into that car. In the United States we called what he performed a "rolling restoration" because at no point in the process was the car totally undrivable at any stage of the project. To me that's the best way to do these older cars that need a refresh to bring them back to just new condition. The only thing that in my opinion that sucks is the aftermarket radio with those ugly speaker boxes on the rear seat shelf. With all the modern technology haven't a hidden unit under the dash so you don't have to destroy the original radio is the only way to go for me. Great video.

It’s what everyone did to their cars in the 90’s. Dan has the original Becker radio still in perfect condition. Regards.
Yes!!!
You both smiled when driving, so I guess you both would answer “yes!” to the question “was it worth it?” .
The music definitely made me feel I was watching an episode of Mr. Roger’s Neiborhood, except I don’t think he ever restored a 190SL.
as Steve Carell once said... " DAMN IT! I KNEW IT! I KNEW IT!"
Yes! :)
…like watching Mr Roger’s Neighborhood TV show for car nuts.
yeah, cars that haven´t been moved need exactly the work-over you did. The dry California air helps to reduce rust problems but these "barn finds" need all rubber parts up to and including bump stops replaced, even the springs maybe. But yes, it is worth the 10 grand to fix up if its already in the family!
Brilliant car in the right place to
Another great video mate , thanks 👍

So the bigger question is when are you moving to S0Cal? You know you want to. Still waiting on the opportunity to meet up at a Cars n Coffee.
Can’t understand how this wonderful Chanel has only 27.5 thousand subscribers 🤔

You know why so don't act like you don't know. Quality channels like this get so few subscribers because they aren't clickbait or use other gimicks to draw new people. Seems like on KZread, when you put out quality content it takes forever to get people to come around. It's sad but i love this channel more than any.
Gary, when did you start to get involved with cars ,a great video ,thanks ❤️👍🏴
