Dull knives are more dangerous than sharp knives. If you try to cut with a dull knife, it's far more likely that your hand will slip.

If you make the blade out of obsidian you can get the edge to be only 12 atoms thick. The blade might be very brittle but it is sharp enough to cut a finger simply by looking at it

On a straight razor you can't mess up the angle. You lay the blade flat on the stone.

Rusty blades can always be sharpened because it means the steel is good
