You can’t find anything like that for $250 here. They still want a fortune for a wore out pos. Just because it’s painted green they think its worth a lot of green

I can relate I am looking a for a good riding mower but cheap, and I can’t believe the prices $2000 - $5000 for a used one. I can’t believe an X series mower for $250.

Flipping mowers for the last 4 years, cheapest I ever saw an x series was $500. Someone took out the ignition switch no hood and tires were bad. Round here (central mn) $250 gets you a 10+ year old home depot special

Every time I come across a used John Deere that's under $1000, they got rusted out decks and floorboards. I do just fine with my Craftsman's. Not saying one is better then the other, but I'm not going to overpay for neighborhood status.

Just picked up a 1998 345 with only 458 hours, 48 inch deck, great tires, all body panels, original owners manual, motor cranks, some rat damage to engine harness but easily repaired. Needs a deep thorough cleaning and polish, came with some new filters an a bunch of JD parts. Paid 150.00

Good to see another X320 running and mowing. Mine is a 2010 with no hood. I’ve run into just about everything on my 5 acres and I kept the hood on as long as possible but it finally broke into many pieces. I still find them from time to time. A year and a half ago I took it apart, cleaned off as much rust as I could and painted it. Removed the deck and replaced the spindles, pulleys, belt and blades. The deck got the full treatment and looks almost like new. It’s a good little mower and I’ll take it any day over the Z535M that sits in the shed most of the time with one thing or another wrong with it. Thanks for the video

I have a 2005 X320, and am encouraged to see this one still with a good transmission at 1500 hours, mine has around 750 hours. This model has the K58 Tuff-Torq transaxle which perhaps is sturdier than the K46 that the lower cost mowers have. The K58 isn't easily serviceable though... but you can put drain plugs in it so you can keep the oil changed out. Lots of videos of how to do that on KZread. Thanks for the video, great job! :)

I bought it at an auction when it was 3 yrs old in 1990. One other person wanted it so I had to pay $3400. Has been well worth it. I like the hydrostat control on the dash but have never operated one with foot pedal(s). It seems like I manage it well when adjusting my body for a side hill and having to brace my foot. The power steering is still very nice.

They use it four or five years and when it quits for any reason they buy new. I flip Scag mowers. Keep working my way up to pro commercial units. Good job on video skills. Man 1500hrs doesn’t seem like much for the ole girl. We had a 2003 LT160 that was a dealer only model. My dads dad bought it new, & when he upgraded my dad was given the mower. We used it for a bunch of years, & could tell the transmission was starting to give out, but not too bad. My dad upgraded, then gave it to his brother that has a house on the same property as my dads dad. It was at 950hrs when it left our place, & it had 500-600hrs when it arrived at our house. We drove the crap out of that poor mower, it’s seen 3 generations in our family. Got 3 1980s JD GTs ones a now semi racing mower that’s broken again. A 212, 216 that’s waiting for a Dsl engine I swapped into a 73 sears suburban that I’m going to swap into the 216 like what I did with my 212 that has the same engine in it now. Then I’ve got a 67 1st gen 110 that needs a belt, a tire, maybe a steering wheel then she’s all set.

Remove the deck. Underneath you will find the sector plate and pinion gear. You need to replace those and the bushings. It’s an easy and inexpensive fix. Part number: GX21924BLE-KIT (1) Steering sector gear (1) Steering pinion gear (2) plastic shaft bushings (1) metal sector gear bushing

I would be looking to see if your spindle pockets on the deck are bent or if the blades are worn way down compared to a new one. These things could cause an unmowed strip.

$250.OO is what a John Deere dealer would be willing to allow on a trade in for that mower. So he could set it out on the lot and ask $1800.00 for. He would maybe get in running nice but that is about it.

If your thinking you can FIX a John Deere mower with 1500 hours by just adding a ecm, new plugs, oil change, paint and a new seat your NUTS!! sure it looks better and the ecm got it running but that's just about all the "fixing " you did 😉 😀. At 1500 hours the laundry list of actual REPAIRS is extremely long and expensive. This is your average used car salesman tricks....wash it, touch it up and make it look pretty, fix it just good enough it runs and stick it to some sucker who doesn't know the difference. There's a ton of guys out there just like this on Facebook and Craigslist that screw people over every day promising a good mower and a great deal . At $1000 and 1500hrs this mower isn't one of them. I say $1000 because of course you do this to make a profit....
