That is a hacksaw. Fretsaws have narrower blades in order to make curved cuts. A fretsaw would have cut that wolf out in one continuous line. There are fewer teeth, and more coarse, than on this hacksaw blade he’s using. Fretsaws are also called coping saws.

Умение работать с напильником, не каждому даётся, в правильных руках, достаточно точный инструмент .Про лобзики:в школе учитель труда заставлял покупать родителей пилки для лобзиков, но другой конструкции с узенькими полотнами, в 1,5-2 мм.Ваш лобзик прямо выглядит серьезнее.Отдельный респект за анатомическую ручку к нему с упором под пальцы.Ребенка не обманешь, выбрал лучшую игрушку, потому что с душой сделана.

Old is only a relative term. Just like fat, tired, happy, or sad.

I think your blade needs to be replaced, it's far too wide for detailed fret work although your wolf looked good when it was finished. Well done.
