I don't want to rain on anyone's parade but did he replace all the bearings AND rewire the windings in the generator?

Excellent as always, only one way to improve it though is a media blaster of some description. Seeing rust and old paint being removed via media is half the fun of any restoration👍

You should never hit a bearing with a hammer you create dents in the bearing races that cause the bearing to fail quicker. Proper method would have been to freeze the crank and heat the bearings to make them just slide together…. Beautiful little genny though.

Great video but how did you relocate the spring on the pulley wheel?

Good restoration. The only recommendations I have are to not paint the cylinder cooling fins because it will make the engine run hotter. I'd also avoid painting the inside of the engine since the fuel will eat it away and potentially damage the internals from paint chunks moving around.

This is now the *BEST* 2- stroke generator video tear-down and restoration of this type on the internet. Super excellent job. I am keeping these 2 videos for my own reference. The build of this model is better than many I've seen too. Really complete & patient quality work. The original designer of these hard working generators will be proud of your RESTORE.

Видео получилось достаточно занимательные. Сказал бы даже из разряда научной фантастики. Не могу понять как на выходе генератора удалось получить номинальное значение напряжения при повреждённой обмотке статера (что прекрасно демонстрирует я в видео) без перемотки?

Старый поршень с задирами, вместе с кольцами тоже не заменил на новые. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 А за обмотки я вообще молчу. 🤣

Didn't hone the barrel and fit a new piston and rings. Old bearings and seals? Painting the unseen inside of the crank case where the oil fuel will wash off the paint is pointless.
