Restoration Of An Abandoned Ducati 748 SPS - Genuine Barn Find!
Ойын-сауық
This time we're back to restoring motorcycles namely this Ducati 748 SPS that was abandoned by its owner long ago and left to rot in this barn, but I've since saved it and restored it back to fully road going condition and found it a lovely new home to live in with its new owner. I hope you enjoy this episode and will leave a little like and a comment to show your support. Enjoy.

Most restoration is buy new stuff to replace the old one. This guy restore almost everything, even the front suspension. Respect.
First time I've seen a mechanic who take note of important details while doing some repairs. This guy is a Legend.

Remembering the introduction of 916 like it was yesterday.. time sure flies..
The 748 was always seen as the baby brother... The 916 design was years ahead of it's time. One of those few cases. I had lots of Ducati model bikes, and my huge collection started from my first 916. Always loved this bike. And if money was no object, even the 748 would be in my garage today. thanks for sharing this rebuild.
Thank you! You did it perfectly! Just like when I fix or restore or maintain equipment or my Land Rover. 1. blow dust away, 2. wash 3. dry, 4 start disassembling, and so on. And your shop is CLEAN! Thank you again!
Wow, you amaze me with the amount of work you put into, not only restoring the bikes/cars but also the hours editing the videos, it must take you hours of video work setting up shots, then putting them together. Thank you for your time and effort.

As someone that appreciates cleanliness and organization I like how clean and organized your shop is.
Just watched this, first time I've watched your videos, you're a perfectionist ! The time taken in the filming this must have at least tripled your actual job time . Switching seamlessly from one shot to another as you inserted a part takes a lot of time and forethought as a one man band !! Great explanations , and a fantastic job done . A well deserved restore for an iconic bike ! 👍 Keep up the good work pal ! 👏
Just finished watching this video whilst my wife is watching some rubbish Australian wedding show on TV. This is the best thing I’ve seen on KZread for ages. How long did it take to complete. Phenomenal work and it’s amazing to me that you had the right tools to hand straight away, I’m always rummaging around through various drawers and toolboxes. Hope the new owner is as happy with the bike as I was watching you put it all together. Best wishes from Wales.
Coś wspaniałego bardzo przyjemnie się to ogląda dobrze że są jeszcze tacy ludzie jak ty❤
What a joy to watch this process. So many specialty tools, so many parts. I’m a technician and it looks daunting. Impressive.
A spectacular restoration for the abandoned Ducati 748 SPS! Truly a rediscovery from bygone years!
Just ran across your channel and just love what you are doing. Doesn't hurt that the 748 is my all time favorite. I have had several standard 748, a 748L and two 748RS. Having rebuilt all of them and raced a couple, your video filled me with many memories. Thanks

Lol restoration my A**. That bike was basically mint, just dirty and some corrosion. The oil was virtually fresh still and the sparkplugs still good. This wasn't a restoration, this was a service 🤣🤣
Growing up I had an enduro 80 and my little brother thought it was funny to see me work on it more then i rode... This restoration is a gem.
Simply amazing!!! Thank you for all the great hints and for taking us for the ride of this restoration. 🎉
I was very disheartened by your opening comments about how this restoration was going to go. I’m halfway through the video and it’s only bloody brilliant 🎉❤😅 you are doing such a bang up job on this old duck. And boy does she ever need it. It’s so good to see it wasn’t ragged to death before being abandoned. Absolutely love the Chanel and content. ❤

Without doubt, the most interesting bike restoration project I've watched to date. Superbly executed and simply explained, together with your excellent knowledge and skills. Last, but not least, what a fantastic project bike to work on. I didn't think it was possible to raise it from the dead, but you proved me wrong. I'll be watching your other restoration videos with interest. Very well done!
It's hard to believe these bikes were first unveiled in 94! They look brand new still! If someone had an example that was in this condition it would be easy to think it was a brand new bike! Truly a timeless design!
I’m always amazed at people who can build/rebuild things. My dad could. My grandfather was a master mechanic and farmer and my great grandfather was a blacksmith. Me. I can ride a motorcycle. But don’t ask me to fix/repair. I can do oil changes and put gas in them and that’s it. Great video!

Kudos to you for explaining the process of an outstanding restoration of a beautiful machine. I'm in the process of hopefully buying a 1999 Ducati 748.
i have binge-watched your motorcycle videos and just love them. Thanks so much for taking theme to make them and for striking a great balance between entertainment and education. For me i prefer the more detailed descriptions and technical info as, having recently retired, i want to do more to my bikes and even look for a project or two to restore. Your videos inspire me, thanks pal
Awesome job as always and certainly a lot more work went in to this than was shown on video, for a non full resto the bike looked immaculate when finished.

Cheers buddy, Glad to see that you know exactly how much work is involved in restoring these bikes.
This has been SUCH a treat! An hour's worth of Mr. RRC doing his spectacular thing. I've spread the watching of it over several opportune times when I can just sit and disappear in it for a while. Kind of a shame I've finished it, so hurry up and drop us another soon dude 😁. Ooh aren't we demanding 😂. You shouldn't be so bloody good, that's the problem 😉👉👉👉. Thanks man 🙏. 😎
It's bad to see in what initial conditions you can find a piece of art like this 748 sps. It's beautiful and even ugly at the same time to see in which conditions a restored bike that anyone can buy is in the origin, and then how can it be restored. I prefer good and preserved pieces to totally restored ones. A big thumb up from Italy 🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹
This is my types of videos NGL.. 40 to 1 Hour long restorations.. no sound track, straight up Voice over with a little bit of saturation.. this is beautiful

great to see you add so much value in the right way to do things, the front wheel, covering the ecu, thanks for the tip on the headlights, i will have to do them on mine. I have covered 54 thousand miles on mine and owned since 2006. Lovely to see the work you carried out on this one. Mine when the injectors are balanced sounds so sweet. Great to see your work
Beautiful bike, and a lovely looking T4 too
Wow. What a beautiful job you did, seriously admirable. Detail oriented and done right, resulting in a fantastic bike. Thanks for sharing!
I have 40 years riding bikes and have always ridden them as if I had just purchased, just exactly the way you gently tested your machine, just shifting gently and smoothly with low rpms, that way you can really feel the engine like a cat purring
@umakantgajjewar8898
7 ай бұрын
Yes, I also like to feel the engine by gently using it ( most of the time ). Only occasionally I ride bike fast for a short distance. So, I totally understand what you mean.
That bike just got a whole new life to live all over again... you did an amazing job 👏🏻...🫡I salute you ✨
I almost bought a 748 SPS many years ago. The deal didn't go through in the end, but I did end up with an Ducati ST4. Same engine really, just a 916. Great bikes indeed. I have a Ducati Monster 1200 now, but still, I some times miss the rattling of that dry clutch. A friend of mine asked one time if there was something wrong with my bike, all I told him was Ducati, as if that explained everything.
This is going to be a great restoration. These are great bikes, and it’s a shame to see this beauty in such disrepair. But I know you will give this bike the proper restoration it deserves.
Probably the best restoration video of anything I've ever seen. Love that we see start to finish in one video, not spread over weeks and weeks. If that's not a full restoration I don't know what is. Beautiful. I know, will go and watch the 916 video now 🙂

nice gentle test ride, covers the speedo with a smirk.... i really hope the new owner rides it around in all it glory rather than keeping it framed in a penthouse

Amazing how you make it seem like you took care of this in under a week lol. You're an inspiration. Love these vids and I hope to see many more!
A true motorcycle archaeologist. One-of-a-kind.
The 748 is my favourite bike ever, my dad had one when I was younger, it sounded amazing, I ended up with a 998 a few years ago, I'd love a 748 as a track day toy when I can afford it though
Great work buddy everything you did was spot on - I always watch these videos and end up seeing all the mistakes...you know your stuff clearly. It brought back memories of my 999, so many similarities on the engine/belts etc. And I've ridden that road a 1000 times so we're in the same part of the world! Good luck

Thank you for saving/restoring this piece of art! Awesome job! Very inspiring!
Just found this channel. What a gem! And I loved the torch, the spilled gas, bandanna peel, and the exposed wires !
I remember back when my mate pulled up to the guardroom on his new 748 and it sounded broken. "It's the clutch plates" he said 😂 Hell of a bike, as is the 916 sp. The memory of the sound droning out of the pipes when engine braking coming down hill still gives me tears and goosebumps. A right nice job you've done there, mate! Good on you and hope the owner treats her good and rides safe 🖖
Amazing video and incredible skills. Brilliant.
Fabulous stuff. Always so wonderful to see time, effort and prodigious skill put into restoring beautiful machinery that would otherwise decay beyond repair. Well filmed and produced too. I once almost bought a 748 back in '02 but made the silly mistake of riding my Blackbird to the dealer. At the time I felt like my pushbike had more power. How silly, wrong, (young and stupid) I was back then! Cheers mate from Australia - Dave
