Restoration of a Smashed Rolex Watch - Most Modern Rolex in Rose Gold Restored

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

www.majorwatches.co.uk/sea-wo...
This restoration of a most modern of Rolex features a watch that recently had a pretty bad accident. It suffered significant external damage. I did not expect to find too many problems with the latest 2235 Rolex movement inside but so I was surprise to see a critical issue inside the case that needed sorting out as well. In this video I do a full Rolex restoration and a light tough refinishing of the case and bracelet, both of which were badly scratched up in the accident.
I do not talk much in this video leaving the action, mostly, to tell the story of the restoration.

Richard, these videos are fascinating. Thank you for sharing. I'm amazed how you took a completely trashed watch and made it functional and beautiful again. I can't imagine what happened to this watch. Run over by a car? Dropped in the garbage disposal? Incredibly good work to restore it so well.

Hi Paul ...Thank you so much for this brilliant feedback. Yes. curved tweezers as a brace is a pretty good tip when securing tiny screws ... it works even when you've got a great big camera lens hanging just above the watch! Thanks again, Richard

Awesome to watch an artist in action. It was so effective to keep the conversation out and letting our eyes see it all unfold from the gruesome first looks at the terribly damaged Rolex to the finished beautiful looking Datejust. Thanks Robert ... yes there's pretty much a precision tool for every task and they are not cheap. Thanks for the feedback. Richard

When he pulls the rolex out of the pouch and it's broken, my heart goes like, "noooo...!" 😩

@@AlwaysPossible100 they are "overpriced" because that's literally the appeal to it. To have something 99% of people cannot afford. It's a status symbol.

@@AlwaysPossible100 true they've overvalued cause of brand recognition and some clever early use of celebrity endorsements that dice rolled into the brand perception of Rolex to this day even among non-watch people. But they do at least look good and they're well made. They shouldn't really be as expensive as they are but Rolex tend to curate their RRP and very carefully maintain a demand for their steel sport range with their production numbers and the amount of watches each authorised dealer gets. That said I'd love to eventually own something like a Yachtmaster or GMT Master II.

@@thelonercoder5816 the are “overpriced” because of the quality of the watch and the expensive metals used to make them, they are one of the first b rands to receive the Swiss Certificate of Chronometric Precision I’m not really gonna say much more than that just telling you they are reasonably priced for their quality and they take about 1 year to make and some people like how they are designed.
