Restoration of a 1982 Citroen 2cv Charleston: the best paint job I have ever seen on these cars
This is the restoration of a 1982 Citroen 2cv Charleston series.
The paint job that has been done on this car is probably the best I have ever seen on a 2cv restoration. As always what makes the quality of the paint job is the preparation but this one absolutly outstanding. Check it out.

I had this exact model when I got my driving license in 1986... Was the most fun factor car I ever had. Had been from Germany to spain several times, one time to Gibraltar which was a 6000 kms round trip. Unfortunately given up 4 years later since it lost street permission for serious rust problems. Excellent job and good memories with your restauration here!
I'm in awe. Incredible attention to detail. Fantastic metal work. Surgical rust removal and new metal fabrication. I never realized how rust prone these cars are. The new paint job is incredible. The reflections on the mirror paint job is at the level of showroom quality. Very, very good restoration. Something to be proud of for sure! Congrats.
Believe it or not this is my dream car since I was a kid, I hope one day to make this dream come true
What a fantastic job...basically he built a new car....wonderful video !!

Thank you for your kind words
Excellent job with skilled craftsmanship
I do like the early 80s 'mki' finish over the later models.
Magnífico trabajo, enhorabuena, ahora toca disfrutarlo.

Yes it is!

Spectacular, it seems zero kilometer.
Wow 😊 that is the body colour type I had 😊 but I dont think mine had the white pinstriping though 😯. I recall having a lot of cursing at those blooming door locks that just go round n round n dont lock or unlock for about twenty attempts or so 😩. Youve got a cracking finish on this un 😀👍.

I see exactly what you mean about the door locks haha
I have an identical 2cv in NZ. Do u know of a product I can get in NZ to do the job.
Awesome paint job! I don't envy you with that body work though.

This restoration was done by a professional but you can get the stickers directly from one of the resellers. Where are you based?

You can get those from France. Have a look here: www.euroretro-pieces.com/adhesifs/1149-ensemble-adhesif-charleston-2cv-bordeau-ou-jaune.html
Better than when built originally. I deduce you are based in Europe, your English is so good I am not sure where you are based, I mention it only because if I lived closer (I'm in UK) to own one of your completed cars or see them would be great, do you repair and then sell them or keep them?

I live in the UK at the moment but used to live in France before. I owned up to 10 of these cars so couldn't keep them all. I used to have 2 or 3 of my own and then use the others to finance the restorations by themselves. It was only a hobby
can someone please tell me the colour codes for this 2cv, I have one but i cant find any colour codes

why not a new galvinies chassis ? BTW you doing a very nice job with those oldies !!!!

Only my opinion here but galvanized chassis were at that time about 200 euros more expensive. After that, it depends on each individual but most people don't use these cars as a daily so the rationale of putting such a resistant chassis for a few days out in the rain every year doesn't justify the cost. I would put it though if I was to prepare one of these cars for a raid on salted roads for example or on offroad tracks. But again, this is only my view ;)
🔝👌👍

Perfection 😉
An excellent rebuild, but why go to the extent you have re building the chassis when you can buy a new galvanised one so cheaply now, this one still has rust in places you cannot get at.
All that work and you didn't change the chassis? To make matters worse, you didn't spray for undercoating and rust treatment? Why bother going through all the effort to restore it only to have it rust out again in less than 20 years? What a waste...
