1977 Citroen 2cv4 Cedrat Yellow: if that's not an absolutely perfect restoration what is?

This is another restoration done by petitenaude from the forum deux pattes.
The extent he went to to restore this 1977 special Cedrat yellow 2cv4 is mind blowing.
From the bodywork to the mechanics to the paint, this restoration is probably the best I have shown on my channel so far.
If you want to restore a 2cv this restoration is a must watch.

That is most certainly worth it. Not many of the "specials" with the solid C pillar were kept. A cheap version of the already spartan 2CV made during the oil crisis to cover a need and not a want. The people who cared for their 2CV to the extend where they would survive into our time tended to order other versions. This makes this specimen quite a rare and exotic piece of 2CV history. Later Specials also had the window in the C pillar making them practically indistinguishable from the outside from a normal 2cv Club.

Il y a encore heureusement des gens qui restaurent des véhicules sans penser au temps et à l’argent dépensé . Surtout pour des autos populaires. Bravo !

I took one of these to Morroco from UK in a round trip that took in 11 countries in 28 days - it never missed a beat - fitted the low compression 602cc van engine to deal with the cough syrup that passes for petrol in some places - painted with matt green & brown tank paint which prevented glare and filled the sump with Shell synthetic I was given at the race track - found the genuine Berber tribesmen noble and charming

That's very interesting. The 602 is what I have in the 2cv I am preparing for my road trip this summer too.

Best car I ever owned was a 2CV truckette in the same color. 1963 model I believe with 6 optional side windows on the rear. Great video. Brings back lots of fond memories for this old timer. Once took a 1,000 mile trip and use #12 in gas.

WOW!! This has to be THE finest 2cv in existence...the attention to details (sealing the whole chassis against rust) will assure it's future is trouble-free. Really a shame this was never done at the factory, the cars would last so much longer. Here in the U.S., we use salt on the roads in the winter, and the manufacturers have taken steps to combat the rust with sealants and caulking, so cars now have a life span of about 30 years barring mechanical problems. Thanks for posting this, Nice to see efforts taken to save one more beauty. ✌😁

This was a car that I, (if I'm honest), despised in my earlier years...now as an old boy, I can see how, in it's various rebirths and forms, it actually revolutionised the lives of ordinary working class people, (like myself in fact), and I now see it as an icon akin to the Model T...perhaps even more so in a European background... This was a superb restoration of a nice little car with a very distinctive character Thank you Dave

cogidubnus1953 that was a very nice comment thank you. I discovered these car almost by mistake but their capabilities has never stopped to amaze me. Not fast but simple and efficient. It used to be the only car I would drive on the snow.

The name of this model is 2CV Spécial, produced between 1975 and 1979 (so relatively common in the 70s and 80s) and it has the 435cc engine from the 2CV4

First saw a 2CV in 1960 on hol in France, was fascinated by the mechanical innovation of it, like the DS. Jaguar are remaking E Types perhaps Citroen should consider the same!

Toutes ne sont pas a moi. Il y a quelques unes de mes restaurations sur cette chaine. Je vais parfois les chercher assez loin. Ca m'est arrive de faire plus de 1000 km dans une journee pour ramener une paire de 2cv.
