Well ! That came apart very easily, not sure the dining room table was the best choice, cant you bolt a vice on there? Will you paint the carb body as original ? If you do make sure you use fuel proof paint, some of the model aeroplane paints are fuel proof to the modern stuff they call petrol, you ultrasonic cleaner is a must have !

Dang, if your wife saw that video she'd make you buy a new dining table!

Nice work 👌 very informative to watch. Does anybody know, where I can find an Amal 289aab carb? I need at least one complete for my motorbike...

What a really helpful video. Just troubleshooting an AMAL carb for a Sunbeam S7 so, for a novice like me, this is hugely helpful. Thank you. Can you share the diagram? It could be really helpful if I need to strip mine down. Not sure yet if I need to get to that point.

Hi John, thanks a lot for your note. You should be able to find the parts exploded diagrams on the new Burlen / Amal company website. Here's a link to their website. Mi Ty, thank you. That is really helpful and much appreciated. Posted a video on KZread of starting the bike for the first time!!! Or at least first time started for 5 years and first time I know of starting it with a kick start rather than a tow since 2003! It is my first Sunbeam so lovely to hear the sound of her. 😁

easier to loosen the large nuts while the carb is still on the engine.

Really helpful playlist - currently working on my late father's series C rapide. What settings a fluid do you use in your ultrasonic cleaner?

Thanks Frank. I'm sorry to hear about your Dad. I just crank the UC up to the highest temperature and then run it for 10 mins with a 80% water / 20% simple green (purple color) solution. Then stir the parts around a little and repeat for another 10 mins. That usually does it really well Best wishes with your bike.

Sheesh.. you posh Vincent owners doing your stripping and cleaning on a polished table. Glad no crap came out.
