Ведущий представитель немецкого довоенного автопрома Mercedes-Benz, в 1936 году представил на Парижском Автосалоне очередную жемчужину от Фридриха Гейгера - роскошное купе Mercedes-Benz 500K, которое по меркам тех лет было недосягаемым для конкурентов по части прогрессивности.
Модели Mercedes-Benz 500K уже в то время называли крейсерами дорог, поскольку они представляли собой уникальное сочетание лучших качеств динамики и скорости спорткаров SSK, элегантность и некоторую консервативность деловых авто и футуристичность, граничащую со здравым смыслом.
Mercedes-Benz 500K, здесь Гейгер, похоже, руководствовался тремя простыми правилами: ещё технологичнее, ещё роскошнее, ещё дороже.

The leading representative of the German pre-war automobile industry, Mercedes-Benz, in 1936 presented at the Paris Motor Show another pearl from Friedrich Geiger - the luxurious Mercedes-Benz 500K coupe, which by the standards of those years was unattainable for competitors in terms of progressiveness.
The Mercedes-Benz 500K models were already called road cruisers at that time, since they represented a unique combination of the best qualities of the dynamics and speed of SSK sports cars, the elegance and some conservatism of business cars and futurism, bordering on common sense.
Mercedes-Benz 500K, here Geiger seems to be guided by three simple rules: even more technological, even more luxurious, even more expensive.
Of the new products that were hidden under the hood of new cars, the first thing to mention is the engine. It was the 8-cylinder carburetor monster that came with the 500K.
These cars were intended for the top leadership of Nazi Germany. They were assembled together with the company De Dion-Bouton - a French manufacturer of cars and wagons, which developed the rear suspension and armored elements for cars. Although the mass of armored 540-ks increased so much that the car barely accelerated to 140 km / h, the issue of safety was a priority. So, after the successful assassination attempt on Reinhard Heydrich (head of the Main Directorate of Imperial Security of Germany) in Prague at the end of May 1942, the Reich Chancellery decides to use only armored cars by ministers and leaders of friendly powers.

Se supone que lo encuentra viejo y deteriorado, pero no tiene nada roto, abollado, ninguna rayadura, todos los plasticos enteros, que fiasco

My thoughts exactly. It's a beautiful diecast Burago model. The metal is non-ferrous, so it doesn't rust. This is not a restoration. It's a bad re-paint. The terrible orange peel texture makes it look like it was sprayed with bed liner. What a shame destroying such a nice model.

It's a Chinese mass produced current item, in the States these are about $20. This guy intentionally covers it in silly amount of dirt at the beginning. 🤡
It's amazing how he can transform these ancient rusted out toys and make them look better than they did when they first came off the assembly line

I found it odd that so much care was used when taking all of the parts off (mostly plastic), but then they were just thrown into the water and a metal brush was used to clean them. I'm no expert but the new paint had more orange peel than an orange peel.

@@transform1388 I think I saw a Pocher model with white sides, and orange fender and orange topsides (up to the chrome trim line). Looked gorgeous. Not to bright an orange, that looks too modern, and you would either have a brown leather interior (darker than the orange for contrast) or a very light beige, almost white. Red leather would not go along with the orange. I find that light colours like this white and orange let the car look bigger than black or dark red or dark brown. In any case such a two-colour paint job would look nice.

From now on, skip the mud application phase and start renovating the used toy straight away. More attention to the paintwork and you get a beautiful model. By the way, this prcess is called refurbishing, restoration is something completely different!

Excelente trabajo. La única duda es como un juguete abandonado que tiene signos de estar maltratado y descuidado aún conserva todas sus piezas y detalles sin tener faltantes...por ejemplo 5;13... Si se sacará el proceso de envejecimiento de tierra y pegamento soluble en agua seguramente se vería metal ya limpio porq no se nota q salga pintura ... como así también los guardafangos q también están buenos. Supongo q todo es parte de hacer un vídeo más entretenido lo cual también es de agradecer . Porque se nota q hay talento tanto para restaurar como para presentar el trabajo.. saludos

That's amazing how badly those rust plastic and zinc parts were before the removed all of the "Mud".
This is what I see. Some ppl get really old stuff and restore it. Other people burry them in the garden, undig them, give it a wash, etc, repaint it, and reasemble it. The end.

Don't you think that if the year 1936 is written, then this is not the year in which this car was made? and the year in which the real car in real size began to be produced (and this is its mastab model)?

This will also possess a strong reference to the 'Beverly Hillbillies.' Jethro Bodine Clampett; had a special type of roadster, he drove. Granny Clampett had a rocking chair; on top of this roadster, which made it strangely special.💺
Does burying it in mud before you try to restore it help take the rust off or help restore it in another way?

Ну-да, ну да ....- только еще снял старую краску, зачистил, перечистил все мелкие детали, покрасил заново и восстановил внешний вид, реставрируя ее!! А так да, ''разобрал и отмыл''!!!
Beautiful! and for the record, I think the restorer's choice of black, to be a much better colour than the red ! Just my opinion.

Exactly. That is also the reason why some things are shown at high speed. Who uses paint stripper on dirt? You could have rinsed the shown car model with just clear water and get a better result.

Машина не вглядит старой и ржавой как какой нибудь инструмент которые чинят на других каналах. Такое чувство что автор просто закопал её в землю на неопределенный срок и притоптал сверху а после того как откопал решил почистить на камеру. И ладно можно было бы списать одну две вывозиные в земле машинки так у него же каждая машинка в начале видео выглядит так будто он её в огороде откопал.

@@TROYXN Нет не все. Посмотрите тот же канал "моя механика" где автор чинит убитые видно что довольно таки старые инструменты некоторые из которых производили еще в начале прошлого века и которые судя по их состоянию ранее эксплуатировали и подверглись эрозии и коррозии металла.
