Restoration Big Model Shelby GT500 Eleanor - Restoration Abanadoned Car 1/8

In this video I found on my Jeep Willys, which I renovated in the previous video, a large 60cm Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 1967 Eleanor model. This model was very damaged so I tried to fix it to look like the shelby gt500 from the movie 60 seconds, I hope you liked the video

One of the big things they do for this, not saying they did it this way. But it takes a lot of work to make it look bad. So one thing that can be done is getting two cars when purchasing. They can then show it messed up before, but when a nice looking seat goes in, odds are its from a clean model.

It was not. This is DeAgostini model that came out 2 years ago. Even if building fell on it, it would not look like that. This was done on purpose, so he could do "restoration" video. And lights are part of this model.
@Death_Vail666
11 ай бұрын
All the parts he added after all came with the kit, you just pick what you want for your build. He just made it look like crap and dumped it on top of some garbage without most of the things that came with the kit that the car came with and then added when "restoring" maybe if they would just put the damn car together people wouldn't be aggravated with the fake restoration and just watch him put models together or customize them without the trickery. THat makes me and most everyone who watched it not want to watch anything he makes ever again. If he has a legit model build and customisation without the whole pretending to find and restore then more people will watch it. People do not care for restoring with fake things. Just put a car together or if you find a real life old car model or real car and it really is rusty and needs restoring then hurray and crap but die cast doesn't rust plastic doesn't rust so people need to be smarter when doing videos and stop trying to make everyone watching feel like you make them look stupid when they will pick apart your video in a second and not like the video at all then talk shit about it and it's deserving with this crap. The car was fine the beginning was crap.
Amazing! That little drone followed above, knowing that the man would make a valuable find, and luckily he had a camera and tripod with him to record his serendipitous discovery for you tube. Luckily it was left in full veiw on top of all the other trash. The restoration is excellent however. God bless him!
I understand how hard it is to get a video off the ground if it doesn't look like the last time it was touched a dinosaur stepped on it, so love it or hate it a lot of work went into it and I appreciate that. Good job on this video and this project.
Thank you for doing a perfect restoration of such a beautiful, wonderful, powerful iconic classic muscle car!! More please

@davidstraub7218

I would also like to know... back sometime shortly after the movie came out, I was part owner of a muscle car diecast store.. I made a 1:18 diecast one for myself (I also had my own side business where I would modify diecast to match people's real cars (or just what they wanted)). I started with an ERTL 67 Shelby GT 350 (mainly because we had quite a few at the time) as well as an ERTL 427 Cobra "body shop" diecast kit. Took apart the Shelby, stripped it with aircraft stripper & got started with the body mods - using JB Weld "stick" (more putty - like as opposed to liquid) to form the front end, wheel flairs, side skirts & hood scoop. Once I felt this was correct general size/shape, I got out my trusty Dremel & began grinding & sanding. Engine (427) was pirated from the Cobra kit as were the wheels - which were then modified. Interestingly enough, the wheels were honestly the only thing I kept track of my time on.. each wheel from start to finish took about 4 hours. I pretty much only kept the middle (or spider) of the original rims, the actual "rim" parts were aluminum tubing (for wheels??) that came from a large hobby shop. I also found some aluminum tubing that I used for the unique side exit exhaust (correct shape/size), I had a fellow hobbiest make me correct scale license plates & even the "go baby go" shifter label. In the end... I'm guessing I had in excess of over 100 hours into this car... oh, lots of primer & sanding, 5 coats of "Fleet - Pepper Grey", all black striping painted on (including the side stripes) & then at least 5 coats of clear before cut & buff. I made the aluminum tube grille by hand & the driving lights were "jeweled" lights from the model railroad section of the same hobby shop. I eventually got harassed? No, more like pestered to sell it. He eventually paid me $800 for the car & flew from California to Chicago to pick it up from me. I still have everything to do another (several, actually) except the time... although seeing this larger scale one, makes me want to do it again!
