German Helmet Restoration
In this video, I will show a restatement of the German Helmet M17 from the World War II. This helmet has been in the ground for 75 years. As a result of the restoration, the original paint and the color of the helmet were preserved.
No propaganda and extremism.Only history!

It’s a WW1 Austrian Stanhelm reissued for WW2 before the M36 took its place. And they also had swastikas on them when Hitler went into power during 1933 and before. All mostly for political uses. Although many did see combat in the early stages of WW2 and other army’s mostly Nordic like Finland and Norway used them all throughout the war.

@@the_pirate_podcast it’s an Austrian. You can tell cause of the height of the chinstrap lugs. That’s the main difference. They’re higher up than the German model
That's a pretty cool Helmet Bud looks Awesome
it turned out very well to preserve the native color, and save the decals тип, 👍👍👍👍👍
Hey man, I have a transitional M17 Stahlhelm from a KIA soldier from Leningrad, it has a shrapnel hole and a lot of surface rust, it also has a lot of its painting. Should I follow the same steps as you? Did you only cleaned it using detergent?
It's an Austrian m17 stahlhelm not german
Nice video, I just bought an m16 stahlhelm just recently it was used in the Reichswehr after ww1 and has a dent on the side, possibly from a shrapnel. Greetings from Austria
So those brown stuff after cleaning, are those rust or just bare metal?
Great work. Good preservation process.
I recently bought a Austro Hungarian M17 painted in Äpfel grün, it has a Sharpnel hole and I still having some of the paint on it, it was found in Stalingrad
Very good comrade! #Respect *WWll Tube Restoration*
This is art....
Woah there. That's a gem right there but shouldn't it stay buried since the gunshots implies a lethal headshot? Then again, there were more than one shot, may be implying that it might've used as a bait for sniper fire. Good video tho, keep it up!
Last amazing your so good a restoring things can you restore my original m38 paratrooper helmet plz

Franklin 098 The decal is not gone just overpainted. It would have also been an National Shield and not an SS Decal. It’s in general better to leave the helmet as it is, as it is now still 100% Original, any fake decal would ruin that.

I thought M17 Kuks were only issued to the Western front in WW2,

This is very nice, but it is Austrian WW1 M17 (doesn’t mean it wasn’t later an SA helmet or possibly given to the Wehrmacht due to some reason).

This model of helmet M17 was used by Germany forces at the World War II. I decided to recreate the model of the helmet that was used by the Wehrmacht troops after the Anschluss of Austria in 1938. www.militarytour.com/blog/the-german-m1935-helmet-history/ www.wehrmacht-militaria.org/shop/austrian-m17-heer-double-decal-transitional-helmet/
