liquid refrigerant cannot flow back into the compressor, the compressor will be damaged.

what a dumb i am. usually I recovery refrigerant from inside machine as well as check the coils of compressor before welding 😂
From a restoration point of view, it’s a nice finish. From a refrigeration point of view, it’s a nightmare. In Australia, just about everything you did is illegal. This system ( of which this component is one of two pieces) was thrown away for a reason.

Illegal= legal if noone cares... in Kenya i can buy tons of r22 at $4 per kg if i wish to. Noone cares or asks for certification like in western countrys.

where i live as a engineer, i would be fined $50,000 if i did what you have done and then it would be illegal to on sell this machine. let at alone using a banned refrigerant.

In some countries, including the one where this guy lived in, r12 & r22 are still legal.
