I visited the Philippines many years ago and was impressed by the hospitality of the wonderful people there. Years later, back in the USA, I had a Filipino coworker who invited me to his house often for special occasions. Wonderful memories.

I only imagine how nice it would be to live in a country like this. I wish I had been born in a country like this. Polite, beautiful, genuine people. Awesome.

I became a Filipino in 1996 when I married my Filipina wife. They are the friendliest most giving people on earth! I was instantly made to feel part of the family. We are building a house there(Pampanga) to spend a part of our retirement.

Filipino service nothing beats them ... they can speak English, they are just so willingly helpful, polite no one esp. in S.E Asia can beat them ... the city has nothing much, but their service is absolutely awesome.

Mark, I am in my eighties but everytime I see your food trips around the world, I am reminded of my paternal grandparents . They had a restaurant and we were food spoiled. It's not just the restaurant that is exciting but the trips out of town with them or with our parents o their supply buying trips. The giant crabs and lobsters as well as shoe size oysters were unbelievable. Also wholesale buying of the fruits of trees was a rare experience for children our age. These were our out of town excursions that made our friends think that we were fibbing about. Actually, we grew up with food experience s that we could only talk about in our family. If anyone doest belive there are giant crabs and oysters as big as an adult shoe, go to Quezon. Thank you for the joy of the now vicarious experience of eating around the world, Mark.

love this! I've been to Abe. My mom makes sinigang with guava. Not a fan of it. I love it without the guava =). Lamb adobo sounds interesting. I love adobo and I love lamb so I will definitely have to try this when I go back to the PI. Never had fermented rice paste. Thank you so much for doing this video. These are foods that I have not tried in the Philippines yet and will definitely give those dishes a try .

I was looking forward to the wonderful food of the Philippines and was not disappointed,but the hotel is magnificent,beautiful and so efficient and creative(those cookies were incredible) and this was just the opening sequence.Breakfast again was an entre to the food and culture of the Philippines-just so exciting! The evening meal was succulent and the "wonderfulness"of it was carried across KZread land to a dull and dreary London-a bright spark in my day.Like Oliver Twist I await more whilst munching on a dreary salad leaf-SIGH!

The hotel; the personal touches like the custom cookies; the Tapenade buffet: the beautiful oysters, the ribeye, the rissoni; the beautiful pool; the Uber ride; dinner at Abe.... Loved it all!
