It's plenty okay to cry. What matters is that you don't sulk. Rather, that you use this sadness to cultivate an ambition for something great. Even if it's in something as small as a gesture that warms and inspires, you've made the right impact. We can all be teachers, in our own way. "Move well! Learn well! Play well, eat well, and rest well!" That is the ultimate lesson of Toriyama's legacy and influence.

Akira Toriyama literally is the reason I got into anime, Dragon Ball Z was the first anime I ever watched. Thank you Akira Toriyama for being the hearts of millions. Your legacy will never be forgotten for sure and we will DEFINITELY keep it alive. 68 is still relatively young and he was only 2 years close to hitting 70.. 🕊️💔

Facts

Reassessing Toriyama's legacy in the wake of his passing has been a sobering experience. It's the only time I've felt intimidated by the sheer size of the footprints a man left behind. Legend really is the proper way to refer to him.

50 years of impact touching at least 3 generations. 40 of it dragon ball and 10 before that coming into contact and growing alongside the other creators we all know. Truly a legend. And at the end of it all, he was just a dude happy people were enjoying his creations.

He’s improved so many people’s lives just by creating what he did. A true legend. Rest in peace, Toriyama-sensei.

Same here ..... but dragon ball taught me something else too, that it's ok to lose if you learn something from it, just as goku did all those years ago The true strength is the strength to not give up when it matters Fly high, toriyama, and teach the people of heaven how to ride a ball

This legend shaped my ENTIRE childhood. my dad introduced me to dragon Ball when I was about 5. Since then, I was HOOKED. Akira Toriyama made one of the greatest animes and shows of all time. ThankYouToriyama. The greatest to ever do it. R.I.P LEGEND

Man... I still remember the times having to stay up late during elementary school waiting for new episodes of GT to premiere on NickToons with my father. This genuinely hurts now hearing about his passing. I'm grateful he was there to make my childhood brighter. May his powerful soul rest peacefully.

His works have influenced so many people around the entire world in more ways than most people can even imagine. Sports, music, manga, anime, television, cartoons, comic books, video games, clothing. All of those things have been touched by Dragon Ball in some capacity or another. Even modern manga and anime reference and draw inspiration from Dragon Ball.
