Bob Reynolds is a Grammy Award-winning tenor saxophonist known for his work with Snarky Puppy, John Mayer, and 8 solo albums. He is a D'Addario Woodwinds artist.
LONGER BIO
Saxophonist Bob Reynolds is an in-demand jazz performer, educator, and sideman, as well as a regular member of the Grammy Award-winning band Snarky Puppy. Born in Morristown, New Jersey in 1977, Reynolds grew up in Jacksonville, Florida, where he first started playing saxophone at age 13. Although he listened to a range of music as a kid, by his late teens he was a dedicated jazz student. After high school he honed his skills at Boston's Berklee College of Music, where he mentored with George Garzone, Hal Crook, and others. As a leader, he debuted with 2000's The Bob Reynolds Quartet, followed by 2006's Can't Wait for Perfect. That same year, he joined fellow Berklee alum John Mayer's band and spent the next five years with the pop star, touring and appearing on such albums as 2008's Where the Light Is and 2009's Battle Studies.
In 2013, he returned to his solo work with Somewhere in Between, which reached number one on digital jazz charts. He then made his Snarky Puppy debut appearing on the genre-bending group's 2014 effort, We Like It Here. Two years later he was back with Snarky Puppy for the Grammy Award-winning Culcha Vulcha. In 2017, Reynolds delivered the EP Guitar Band, which featured appearances from Kneebody bassist Kaveh Rastegar as well as fellow Snarky Puppy members Robert "Sput" Searight (drums) and Mark Lettieri (guitar). ~ Matt Collar

You can always tell when someone has put their life into music, I think Bob Reynolds is an excellent example of that.
But seriously, this combo of musicians on this album is the perfect equation to your tone. I listen to this album daily, more then once too....
That awkward moment when music transcends every limit and become The Nominous entity that makes reconsider the existence itself.
you are one of those players who always makes me want to pick up my horn and play after a listening! (well obviously the music/band in it's entirety.. but your playing too for sure!)
Oh My! How good are you? Wonderful music!
Chills. Bob, your tone has achieved perfection.
Super cool as always from Bob
Killing it!!!!
Love it man! Can’t wait to see you in Manchester!
Musical Genius! Enjoyed every bit of this!
On repeat! Love this one
Wooo!!! Band is on fire! Great tune Bob
Beautiful!
Absolutely atmospherical
Best performed new composition these ears have heard in a while. Thank you.
Exquisite, Bob. Looking forward to your masterclass in London next Friday.
Beautiful
beautiful!
This is brilliant ! Make sure to bring some CDs to the London gig !
Amazing!
This is one of the standout tracks on this cd for me ! Starts nice and chilled and just builds and builds! Saw them live at cadogan hall in London and got a signed cd too ! Worth every penny !
I love the beginning of this song. Very tasteful with great emotion. Beautiful Tenor tone.... I really like the way this song is mixed. Kudos to the engineer...! Again great tune. It inspires me.
This is Amazing!!!!!!!
Damn that was the best song yet!
I'd LOVE to see a behind the scenes on this album. Especially the decisions behind mic choices and decisions regarding which sounds where committed to at the time of recording and which were shaped by production later in the process. I feel there is much to learn from this sonic palette. It's "pocket"...but the melodic kind!

Al Homicz you’re in luck... I was shooting vlog #100 that day, and included a lot of behind the scenes footage: kzread.info/dash/bejne/gpVmxpSYlLWwepc.html

That was one great show! I hope you made it 😃
OK, I went and bought the album without waiting for the last song. Hope that one doesn't ruin it! Seriously guys, this is very nice work. :)
Excelente som. Excelente música. Parabéns.
Wow! I don't listen much to modern players. But your vlogs have inspired me to hunt out the few post 60's players you've shared. I have to say listening to this and them you have really opened a new door of beautiful melodic music, that is still rooted in jazz, but contemporary...so heartfelt...pure emotion...not much else to say...amazing...both the playing and the actual music...you continue to inspire on every level...

With all these videos I wonder, what about the footage of the spining camera in the middle?

They did use some takes from there, but it was mainly useless
the intro reminds me of pharoah sanders healing song. (live at the east)
MERCI You Tube .
Oh...and what I wouldn't give to see Ruslan's chart at the 6:00 mark...it looks like the equivalent of Mama's world famous lasagna recipe! Haha!

Bob's charts are simple and straight forward, as are most of his compositions. His charts and tunes contain the essence/dna of the song.. and nothing more. This allows the band to re-invent the music anew each and every time! :)

Ruslan Sirota Well, it was a beautiful take from each of you! The whole album is such a conversation. Great playing.
Gwizdala is so extra
Hi Bob, I’m a classical saxophone player trying to become better at jazz. Switching to jazz mouthpiece have given me troubles with my sound. I typically have a full warm sound and my jazz sound sounds flat and unlikeable, also I squeak a lot. Any advice? Thanks
Close your Eyes.. Your Breath Breathes.. Your Heart Sings..
You can get pregnant just by listening to this song.
