As with many other elements of the metal casting process resin technology continues to evolve, both for production and health/environmental reasons.
This technical lecture on resin technology for moulding, delivered by Mr. Ray Higgins of Eurotek Ltd & Mr Neil Yoxen of Foundry, Machinery and Spares Ltd (FMS) to the West Midlands, Birmingham & Coventry Branch of the Institute of Cast Metals Engineers in September 2021, demonstrates the evolution of furan resin technology for binders and the available technology in place to help ensure quality mixes of moulding sand and the ability to reclaim sand to minimise the need to replenish stock and reduce the volumes for disposal for the castings industry.
