The residents of Layou have declared “war” on the proposed development of a jetty in Jackson Bay, Layou - a development which, if it comes to fruition, would be the third jetty established at the seaside town.
According to an application filed by SVG Aggregate Inc, the rock fill jetty will extend approximately 150 ft from the shoreline and is required so that aggregate products from Palmiste in the Layou mountains can be loaded onto barges.
