Residents clean Spring Village

Residents of the North Leeward community of Spring Village banded together on Sunday to clean ash from the village’s main street.
This was in contrast to what we saw in Barrouallie when we visited last week.
Spring Village is located in the Yellow Zone, but, like much of the country, saw heavy ash fall since La Soufriere erupted on April 9.

Very commendable and proactive approach by these citizens! Government cannot be everywhere in a crisis. If you see a need and are able to render assistance no matter how minute,it goes a long way, after all it is your community to reap the benefits. Let us all do our part to get the country back on its feet as quickly as possible. Long live St. Vincent and the Grenadines! Much love guidance from Jamaica🇯🇲

The thing a lot of those young men don’t understand is that the government of St. Vincent is asking for a lot of money from the international community to help in the recovery. How does it look to potential donors if they see videos of able bodied men having a lime while the prime minister is telling the world that the situation in SVG is desperate?

Instead of asking a whole heap of questions, maybe Kenton should roll up his sleeves and help. The last thing anyone likes when they are working hard, is a ton of meaningless questions. Much better would be for Kenton to contact international agencies to get more PPE for the citizens of SVG and apply all journalistic influence in such matters. #SVGLivesMatter
