@@DrewSwenson The thing is that the design comes from a japanese point of view, bassed from stereotyped police station from american movies. Something similar that they did with Spain in Re4 ( yeah, towns like that exist here in Spain).

The rocket launcher in the evidence room labeled as evidence from the Arklay mountain incident was actually a very cool touch. This game is definitely straight out of my childhood, I love it's nostalgic value. I'm so glad I was a kid in the 90's when games like these were cutting edge lol

There is something about the audio of the old games that is just special. Just at 2:23, I am already in the mood for some RE action when you hear the distant screams of zombies. When the RE 2 remake came out I instantly bought it with the original RE 2 audio. It may be just nostalgia that makes it so good but I always felt it added a lot to the game.

Modern RE has inferior soundtrack

I've been following RE 1.5 for about eight years now and it's truly amazing too see how far the devs have come. It's so surreal wstching this, because it feels like peeking into an alternate timeline. Great job as usual Kendo!

It's amazing how muh the 2 & 3 modern remakes took heavy inspiration on 1.5 areas. Amazing work!

Someone really needs to feed re2 voice lines into an AI for this.

Can't get enough of that RE 1.5 gameplay. I remember reading magazine articles about its release back in 96. I was so pumped! And boy did I get bummed out when they scrapped it 90% into completion.

Rumors and downright urban legends about there being "90%" and even "full release" builds, are currently nothing more than exactly just that - rumors/hearsay/urban legends. Bizarrely enough, there's a particular point in BIOHAZARD 1.5 which has design/camera angles/object placement/details that were later almost directly copy-pasted 1-to-1 into...Dino Crisis 2's second half (was used for the "town" section, where the tank-VS-Tyrannosaurus and Triceratops mini-games/scenes are). Proves yet once again that Capcom NEVER destroys or throws anything out, regardless of how assets looked initially. NEVER EVER. It may take them literal decades to resurface again, but nevertheless.

How did you know then that they overhauled the game? Resident evil 1.5 was something realized kinda retrospectively to the public awhile after it's release when people started noticing the preview screen shots weren't only beta elements but significantly different to the final product.

I promised myself that I would wait till the build is as close to "done" as possible before finally playing it. Awesome progress so far !

Yes, I am doing the same. I downloaded a version of MZD with mods by Martin a couple years back and put it on my PSP but it needed a lot of work and for some reason all the zombies were invincible lol Any chance you know how much is still to be done? I'm so eager to play a new proper RE game. (I loved RE2 remake and was so upset about RE3 remake).

Man your idea using the first designed "Alpha Leon", Grant Bitman, in 1.5 was brillant! I always hated that Leon skin from 1.5. Looks soooo dumb. Amazing Playthough Kendo! Good job!

Fascinating. It's like someone dropped RE2 into a blender then pieced it back together.

Yep the resi games had what I'd call the best zombie noises in any media. Now the likes of walking dead just have them doing boring growls and hisses. I prefer the mournful moaning sounds.

@@mrneutral8423 yeah the classic resident evil games zombie noises are the best because of how they try to sound human but in suffering compared the newer zombie games in general sound less human and more animals that are evil

I think it would be great idea to change a few character names and story bits to make it an unofficial Gaiden game. Like of course many cities have several police precincts, Leon could become Grant, Ada can become Linda and so forth,...Bring all of these ideas into the original trilogy canon.

I mean, making a version of the true Resident Evil 1.5, change the skins, names and script a little bit (taking inspiration from a lot of those discarded ideas), to give an unofficial side-story that fits well into the canon. Use Leon's original haircut (spiky short hair initially) and name him Grant (as originally intended), change a few colors on Linda (Ada) and John (Kendo) to make them look like different characters, give Marvin, Sherry, Annette and Chief Irons a makeover and a name change, and keep Elza an DJ as is. The leaked preview build has already been modded to hell just to get it semi-working, might as well make it a brand new adventure IMO. Of course I'm no modder and I'm just putting the idea out there, I'm grateful for any work done by the community.

It`s impressive how much has been done throughout the years... I remember when this was released to the public probably around 10 years ago while I was still in High School. People were able to do a lot for this build, it`s amazing. Thank you Kendo for the upload.

Leon has the picture of Chris in his I.D card. Yeah, that's one way to preserve the Redfield lineage.

Would love to have seen what the opening cut scenes would have been like if this was the released version. Seeing Elza walker crash through the front of the police station on her bike and bringing the shutters down before a horde of zombies storm the building would’ve been epic. Even with the technology of 98. Capcom need to release this. Even if it’s not cannon and just for the sake of the hardcore RE fans

The thing I like about the environments in this game is that each location is much bigger than the final RE2. I think part of the reason they were able to achieve this was due to the lower polygon count which also meant they could put more monsters on screen at a time as well as character damage.

Good Work. I remember seeing the Gorillaz in a magazine back then. I was dissapointed that you encountered dogs instead in the parking lot.

I'm glad we got the RE2 we got, as the 1.5 feels a bit dull in comparison and lacks the creepy vibe of the RPD. But they could have reworked some of those backgrounds to make the police station look like something else (a hospital or a mall), and they could totally have released a spin off game without scrapping the whole thing.

The background noise while outside is so scary just hearing the zombie sounds

Very nice alternate reality. I think the Manspider could carry his own bonus game, with insight into an alternate Umbrella's experiments with arachnids. Even the regular spiders seem more aggressive in this version. As far as the apes go, they kinda seem like proto-hunters, without the reptile and amphibian genes. Clearly an inferior product, so no wonder they didn't make many of them xD Seeing Annette and William standing like that at the very end is interesting, as though in this timeline perhaps he retains more of his humanity for longer?

The score is perfect. Haunting and full of dread.

Fantastic video. Gonna get this downloaded. Loved the previous build. Wish Capcom would invest a few quid and finish this.

Great gameplay bro, 1.5 has always been so fascinating to me. Do you know why they haven't put door animations in yet or are the modders purposely skipping them for time sake? Door animations are good for new players but I'd guess most seasoned players such you and myself use door skips whenever possible. Haha.

@@daveweaver3886 The majority of doors in this build are unique to 1.5 but they haven't created door animations that fit these unique doors. So they've turned them off entirely.

Loading screen of big monster punching a steel door open is bigger fuel nightmare than the one of opening the door to see two zombies walk toward you, and boy is that other thing scary.

Not only is this a very smooth walkthrough, I've played through this build myself, but how did you manage to figure all the codes and puzzles out? I gotta wonder how long it took to figure all of that out.😯

Just a heads up, in the room with the non working elevators you can power up by using the fuse at 35:13 if you take the other elevator to the right of the glass windows at the top of the screen you can find a semi auto shotgun which is a definite upgrade over the pump action, especially against the apes as you can easily stunlock them with it also in the room at 44:12 in the weapon chest on the far left theres a flamethrower, unfortunately its glitched and the projectiles dont work properly (tested through debug mode) and as a result the game says its not obtainable in the preview

Maybe i missed it but when did leon learn the fate of the police chief? Marvin asks about him but i dont remember seeing anything on his fate in the gameplay. I assume it was intended to be brought up but due to the nature of 1.5 probley not in the game

What are the addition changes this time other than the extra area?
