If you're a collector, you have to resell. Its the dudes who did it as main hustle that jacked it up. alot of the time after fees, taxes, time and shipping most are just breaking even. it's part of collecting and just having fun. but not meant to pay the bills.

@@tony4534 to each their own. And i guess it depends on your funds and space. But imo. there is a line you cross when you go from collector to hoarder. For me. Putting stuff in storage, and calling yourself a collector is just silly. And not everything goes into PC. some stuff may not do it for you and perhaps then you can trade it, sell it. gift it , wear it . some stuff you want to keep , landed first trick in these ... kissed first girl in these or whatever. those are staying. most of time we are just making room for new stuff . imo once something falls out of sight . out of mind. perhaps time to think of letting it go. Most of time if i sell something, the money is reinvested back into the collection anyways.

I can’t say that there won’t be another pandemic whether it’s natural or government related I just don’t see the world going perfect forever and resale staying down 😂

The other problem re sellers have is the UA/Replica game is so close to the real mcCoy that buyers have dug in their heels and would rather have the rep for one quarter what the greedy re sellers are charging

probably a lot of people realized that sneakers are important anymore when youre trying to save money. I used to buy a lot now im looking at the shoes i do have any want to sell them now.

Resell dead, now just need retail prices to go down 50-60 bucks

Also this whole sneaker reselling started with the Kanye west/adidas hype in 2015, then Virgil with off white&Nike and Travis with Jordan. Back in 2020/2022 There was just more people buying shoes during the Covid because of the stimulus checks.

I remember walking in the store and getting my 11/12 countdown package w/ taxi and bred 11s circa 2008

In a market like this is where if you are serious about reselling and not selling to other resellers you can make it into a successful business. I myself sell on consignment and make about a 30-40% return on each shoe. Finding the correct store with the foot traffic is key. Not every store can sell at a high price and volume.

I just miss waking up in the morning having to wait in line for a pair of sneakers. Was annoying at the time but now i miss that shit. I think apart from the ridiculous prices on reselling the high end collabs ruined it as well in terms of pricing etc. Brought in the wrong crowd.

The people that are actually wearing for the love of the craft are still having a great time ! I’m getting all the shoes I couldn’t get back in HS because they were astronomically overpriced. It’s hard to be hype about hype 24/7 especially if you have no love for the craft or the game.

All sneaker resellers should have to walk barefoot on legos.

It's going in cycles.... 10 years from now kids are going to want panda dunks because of nostalgia

Facts..that 2017-2018 timeframe was lovely for resellers

2011-2015 was the best resell market you could make a killing off general releases back then

I've always been into sneakers since the early eighties but I would never pay more than the shelf price for ANY shoe.

Watching this video and listening….. makes me realize again that nothing, I mean nothing lasts forever. So enjoy what you can in life….

I think 2025 is going to bring a LOT of excitement from Nike considering everything that’s coming out Might possibly be some resell value for certain releases but nothing too crazy But this happens in waves. Sometimes Nike has a lot of hype and sometimes it’s another brand

That can play a role too Let’s say they only make 200,000 or less cement 4 OGs and don’t do any restocks…that pair will definitely resell for more versus if Nike makes 1 million pairs like the military blue 4s which always said if Nike made less pairs of those everybody would talk about them every day

My collection dont lie. You look behind this guy. All shoes from the last 6 years. That KILLED the game. Too much Nike/Jordan bias. The game will be crazy the next wave cause diversity and how its actually being worn will matter.

People still love sneakers, we ain't missing that. People don't love the ridiculous overhyped prices, that's pretty much it.

I ran a very large warehouse. My guys were always on about their "kicks." One guy knew the name of every manager of every shoe store in our city of 90 thousand. It was insane. $500 shoes were COMMON.

As an OG sneakerhead, I love the down market. I can walk into a store and purchase sneakers for myself and my children for under retail.

All the hyped up prices made no sence to me in the first place..

Let me share with you the real reason why the resell market is dead. The Fed raised the interest rates from 0% to 4% plus, in order to conbat inflation. That made borrowing capital expensive and also incentives leaving your money in interest bearing savings accounts instead of flipping sneakers in order to not lose money due to inflation when interest rates were at 0%. This is why resell was a thing even before the Pandemic, which affected the supply and demand balance, thereby pushing resell prices through the roof. So PRO-TIP: If interest rates ever go back to 0... then start buying up sneakers because resell will come back with a bang!
