Hi Roy, I just found you through your comment on Kelly’s channel over at Books I’m Not Reading. I love this idea of buying a yard of books and seeing what you get. Iris Murdoch is one of my favorite writers so I had to watch this video. Under the Net was the first of hers I read as I read them in chronological order and I remember being surprised how accessible it was and how much I enjoyed it. Her books do get more complex and most of them have philosophical discussion in to a certain extent. I agree with you as to how good the sense of place is too, most of the novels are set in London at least some of the time and she really captures the city. I hope you get to read more of her some day, there are 25 other novels to pick from 😉

Thanks for stopping by! I do feel I want to read more by her - having accidentally started at the beginning I guess going through them chronologically would make sense. A long term project!

I first heard of her via the movie with Kate & Judy, very good story of her life..... U should be an audiobook narrator. I'm going to find the book now
