I’ve been to loggerhead marine life center I’m glad the turtles are in rehab when they are injured or sick. They release them when they get fully better….. inspiring

We were there July 2023. It’s another very cool place. They let volunteers live on site for free while helping. Keep the videos coming! We love them! -Zoë (your first grade fan)

7:51 I may try not to get confused, but this "pufferfish" actually looks more like a long spined porcupinefish (Diodon holocanthus) rather than a pufferfish. As another fact, what makes porcupinefish so different from pufferfish is that they actually belong to the order Tetraodontiformes, but there is one difference; which pufferfish are from the family Tetraodontidae, porcupinefish actually belong to the family Diodontidae. 🐟🐠🐡

I must say, Nick you had the most well kept indoor pond and tanks! It would have been nice if someone could have maintained atleast the pond while you traveled 🤷‍♀️.... but i still enjoy your videos! 👍

We have Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Hospital locally. It’s a nice facility too. Not outdoors like this one. We live in North Carolina and we do get a few cold nights and days, just not that many. They are located in Surf City NC.

The filtration for an aquarium like that is a million by itself. Look at Brian B's filtration for a similar tank. You better get on that corner son 🤣

The first sea turtle I saw was on a fishing boat on the Chesapeake Bay one of the fisherman hooked in the shell and pulled it up on the boat to unhook the shell. It was a loggerhead turtle everyone got to see it and watch them release it back into the bay. That was in either 1979 or 1980

Depending on the species, I'm very certain that the loggerhead sea turtle, which goes by the name, Danny, his right front flipper must have been bitten of by either a bull shark (Carcharhinus leucas) or a tiger shark (Galeocerdo cuvier).

I would suspect Danny hanging at the window is really all he has. Imagine it must be much like being in a prison cell 24 hours a day with one tiny window in the door and that's *all* that you can look out of. It's not much, if anything to look forward to I wouldn't think, but it's something. Certainly not what Danny had grown up in all the rest of his life by any stretch, Nick. It's terribly sad for Danny. And likely he doesn't realize he is being helped to get better even though he is well fed and given medication. Hopefully soon Danny is better and can go back home, along with the rest of the sea turtles there.
