Poor kitten. From having given up on life, letting the vet do what he will with it, with no strength to even eat, to regaining enough strength to squeal in protest at the indignity of the fluid evacuations - even though they are necessary, to finally eating. I pray that it will heal. Thank you the vet and his team for their dedication to saving the smallest and the most vulnerable among us.

Any followup? How's the kitty doing? I lost one of mine from fluid in the lungs. One day he just moped around all day, sat in a "loaf" not really moving, but the next day was fine, his usual self. About a week or two later, the same thing, he just moped all day, so I figured he could have a stomachache or anything else that bothered him enough to just not want to move. Only he never recovered. That next day I said screw it, I'm taking him to the vet because he didn't get better, but now was visibly having a hard time breathing. Too far gone. Xrays showed his lungs were filled with fluid, I mentioned the incident prior, but got no answers. No idea what it was, but now I see that instead of the meds that were supposed to clear his lungs, maybe the extraction via syringe could've helped? I never forgave myself, even though everyone tells me that cats are great at hiding any symptoms, and you only know when they're too far gone to be able to hide it. Not very comforting, as I *still* think I could've done something more, even though even now I have no idea what.
