The more I watch these videos, the more respect I have for foster parents. Anyone can become a parent, just make a baby and that's it, but to be a FOSTER parent is different. The kids are not even yours but u care for them while living up to all these standards.

I can see how you would think that and I'm sure some foster parents are motivated by the money. But if I was being completely honest, choosing to be a foster parent as a 'career' would be next to impossible to make money. There are a lot easier ways out there to make money!

I want to say Thank You. At 6 mon I was finally taken away feom my biological "parents" and placed in foster care for 3 ½ years. I was a challenge. Even with my forever Family at age 4 the struggle continued. I ended up in CYA for 5 years. But if it werent for people like you I would be in Prison or dead. For all Foster Families, never give up. Every lesson may not be crystallized, but it is internalized. When they decide to change, it will all come back to them. Thank You for being Amazing.

I wanted to share with you that it isn't always your fault as a person. Spirit Possession is something that happens daily to almost every family in the world. It seems that no one talks about spirit possession, and they seem to never have the answers of why our children suddenly seem like not themselves. Why people get sooooooo depressed, etc. Life isn't bad. It's bad if people don't know what to do to protect themselves from what they cannot see. You may have been dealing with demons and spirits in your residence, and never knew it. I don't know.... I just feel that religion and spirituality hinders the growth on this subject. Also, just a little side note... I have created an addiction program to help anyone conquer their addiction.... any addiction. The best thing about my program is that it teaches us why and how about addiction. The most important thing you can do for yourself, and for your loved ones, especially any kids you know and love.... everyone needs to build their immune systems. But real vitamins and minerals. I recommend ZEAL powder formula. Google it... it will knock out depression in 10 minutes. It also helps you lose weight even if you don't exercise. Why? Because obesity is from low immune system, too.

You need to be 18 to provide respite care for foster families, and I started doing that at 20! You still need background checks for yourself and everyone in your household and a home check, even if foster kids never come into your home or meet the people who live in your household. I live in Vermont and needed to have a fire extinguisher; smoke detector/alarm, and prescribed drugs out of reach from a young child (I have them on the too shelf of my kitchen cabinet and that was fine with the social worker for my area).

Insurance verifications, physicals, shot records for any kids in the home; vet checks for all pets, statements from vet that pets do not seem vicious; pet shot records; statements from your kids schools; they sometimes make the fire inspector come and inspect the home; fire extinguishers; bed, area including drawers for each kids clothing storage; desk area (sometimes kitchen table is ok for this) ; driving record; back up child care plan; the social worker basically gives each parent and child in the home a psy eval... and they ask very invasive questions about your entire life; where your spouse met you; when you started having sex; etc... will want a statement from a therapist if you have ever been in therapy saying they think you are ok to parent; statements from your kids doctors; I think that is most of it ... they had pet restrictions too and one city locally doesn't let foster kids share rooms with kids already in the home

IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE THAT SO MANY KIDS HAVE HORRID FOSTER CARE STORIES... IT'S REALLY HEARTBREAKING HEARING ABOUT WHAT A LOT OF KIDS GO THRU IN FOSTER CARE.. I'VE WORKED FOR FOSTER CARE AGENCIES IN THE PAST.. WE SERVICED THE STATES MOST AT RISK CHILDREN.. SO, I HAVE PERSONAL EXPERIENCE IN DEALING FOSTER KIDS.. I CAN'T WAIT TO WELCOME MY BONUS KIDS INTO MY HOME...2 LOVE AND SPOIL THEM.. GIVING THEM GIVE THEM HOPE AND SENSE OF BELONGING.. 2 TEACH & PREPARE THEM FOR ADULTHOOD.. EVEN TEACH THEM MY BUSINESS.. Foster to adoption... It doesn't always work out because children often go back to their biological parents, but not every parent does what they need to and them children may eventually become availae for adoption

I'm pretty sure I can have biological children but I'd much rather foster to adopt. Because I wouldn't want my biological child to suffer the way I do or have a learning disability like I do plus ocd and bpd. So I will foster to adopt one day. Once I get my life in order. I'd really like to adopt a baby or toddler.

It depends on the child- the first priority with foster childrwn is to try to reunite them with their biological family when possible. Child is available for adoption when parents sign them over to the state permanently.

I believe the requirement is necessary becoz the kid will eventually become a productive member of society, and that requires him/her able to comprehend different perspectives, not just any singular perspective. Men & women have very different perspectives in many things and that teaches the kids to consider different people's needs and points, therefore one single person adopting is not good enough for that goal.

@@nepheshr5265 Its just my guess, but I think u can see why I think this way(?) A person who's only able to comprehend one kind of perspective (aka stubborn, single minded, who takes one person's POV as truth / fact, minimal ability to fact check, unable to comprehend alternative solutions etc) will not really be able to function properly in the society, hence one single person raising a kid is probably not a better idea than having the kid raised in an orphanage where there'll at least be multiple teachers / staff / kids etc. No offence, I am really not talking about you, just any one single person in general.

From a logical standpoint giving love to a child or anyone means having their basic needs met, giving them a stable and structured home, getting them into therapy if they need it, giving them kindness and understanding so when the instructor told you all that you were all wrong it made me feel like that instructor doesn't really understand love at all. Those things are what you do when you love someone and if you don't already know that it's concerning. Love isn't just saying I love you. Love is work and effort. Wonderful, fulling work and effort. I really don't like that instructor perception of what love is.
