You have to wonder. It's more than notes on a scale. And, there are only a few composers that truly embrace, our heart and soul. I have a theory...these men and women are Angels on loan; God's way of letting us know, we are His beloved children and each note is a tap on our shoulder, with God saying, Be Loving And Good To One Another.

You wrote a great comment. "What power, what glory, what pathos"--beautiful words, indeeed. Let's not forget Mozart wrote this piece in light of one of the deepest Sacred mystery of Christianity--the Holy Mass which make present the Passion(his power), the Crucifixion(his glory), and death(his pathos). Mozart was Catholic and Catholics belives that the one time Act of God's Love on Calvary and His Resurrection, in time n space, being made present thru out history since this Act is always Present in God's Eternity. So when Catholics attend Holy Mass, they participate in what God does in the Present--atoning (His Passion), forgiving(His Crucifixion), and interceding(by His Resurrection)on their behalf before God the Father. So this music meant not only beautiful in itself, objectively speaking, but a sacred reminder in our hearts and minds and our inner souls the Most important Act of God's love.

I love this piece... so many uniquely exquisitely beautiful moments, one after the other. I never cease to wonder at how great music composed on one side of the world centuries ago can be embraced, performed, and perfected (and shared) on the other side of the world, with the indisputable excellence seen here. It shows how we are all more alike than we are different, I think, that there are absolutes of emotion that all humans share. It gives me hope that all of our differences can be solved, even when everything else seems to suggest that maybe they can't. Crazy, I know. It makes be both sad to the point of tears and ecstatically happy at the same time.

Gregory and the Simon-Bolivar orchestra, chorus and soloist have captured Mozart's Requiem Mass K.626 to absolute perfection at his darkest hour. I believe this is the most sacred and these people's performance of this is the single most profound piece of music divine by God. If Mozart was able to watch this performance he would say this is exactly note for note from beginning to end what I strove for when I wrote this Requiem Mass. It is the embodiment of the most sacred piece of music and the best interpretation of it, I believe in all in the music history of the world. A performance that will live forever!!!

The adagio tempo in the beginning works perfectly for allowing the listener to drink in every note, and with it, the profound emotion of this most beautiful work of Mozart. The allegro tempo later is a beautiful contrast to the adagio. The choir, orchestra, and conductor can be very proud of their magnificent performance! Tan maravillosa!!!

I have listened to many versions of Mozart's requiem before having been classically trained as a violinist and I must say that this version is the most dramatic, impactful, emotionally absorbing and most creative version I have ever heard in my life. It has left me without words...but I can only say that I had streams of tears rolling down my cheeks throughout the entire performance!!! The Gods would be so pleased!!!This performance is amazing!!!!Thank-you for this gift!!!
