the second movement always sounds like pure heaven
This music reminds me of every good moment I've ever had in my life.
I’l never forget the first time I heard this. I was driving down the Philadelphia expressway. I could not imagine anything more beautiful. Mozart sounds deceptively easy but he demands a lot of his musicians. Only the best players can play Mozart.

Not all Mozart's music.
The flutist and the lady on the harp outdo each other! Mr Mehta & his orchestra are exquisite! Breathtaking musical spectacle! Thanks.
Mozart wrote this concerto during his Paris journey, which was the most biographically important part of his life. It was his first time travelling without his controlling father. It introduced him to the best orchestra in Europe. He really fell in love for the first time on this trip, and experienced major heartbreak. He failed to land a good job anywhere, and was underpaid for the work he did. And while in Paris his mother died, causing a family crisis. He remained spirited through all of that. The letters he sent during his Paris journey are full of fart-jokes and other bathroom humor -- more so than was usual, even for Mozart. Somehow, amid all the bustle, heartache, trauma, fart-jokes, hard work and disappointment he managed to write this beautiful and poised concerto. He never received full pay for it.

Every time you doubt the genius of one of the greatest who ever rested his neurons on earth, go to the psychiatrist.
The two virtuosos make this piece sublime. But Mozart, his genius permeates the firmament like no other
The whole dances on air. The rhythm precise and thrusting forward, yet light and Cheerful. So pleasing performances all.
I first heard this played in a concert in the 1980s with Marisa Robles on harp and James Galway (playing a golden flute). It was played 'in the round' with the audience sitting all around the orchestra. I was on the front row in front of the soloists. A magical experience and I have loved this piece of music ever since.

Viva Mozart. Larga vida a su obra.❤️
